I wish it was for afl games also

Given the NRL never fill a stadium, you'd think they'd half price all tickets

    • Except for the fact they beat the capacity record at the West coast eagles stadium in Perth when for the state of origin game, that shocked me even. But yes most home games are pretty terrible, unless the team is winning.

That was the first Origin game ever in Perth so you would expect them to get a decent crowd.

        • I wouldn't of expected them to get more of a crowd then a west coast eagles final at all. There is no NRL presence over there at all so not really easy to gauge how popular it is. Surprised the hell out of me but not some by the sounds of it.

          • @worthy1: You're comparing a one off state of origin game to a regular fixture.

            Apples and oranges.

            • @shbshb: I wouldn't count a West Coast Eagles final as a regular fixture. Would it help to compare it to a one off Perth Glory Vs Manchester United game then?

The point still stands. The NRL don't 'never fill a stadium'. Canberra is packed almost every game now the raiders are winning. Parramatta's new home ground is packed, Panthers was packed last week, tigers on the weekend.

              • @worthy1: Parramatta's home ground (Bankwest) is packed? The last 7 games there have all drawn well below 20,000.

                • @shbshb: Considering Eels have only played there 3 times since it opened with one JUST under 20,000, the rest 24k and 29k in a 30k capacity stadium is dam good. I'd say you are doing whatever you can to make it sound how you want. Other teams playing there as there home ground i personally wouldnt count as fans are being made to travel elsewhere where they are less likely to go (public transport, distance from home etc).

Not sure what you are trying to do or wasting your time with. My original comment was to point out how the NRL holds the record at a predominantly AFL state and home ground which i even pointed out was a surprise to me, i even agreed that 'most NRL home games are terrible' in capacity. Keep trying whatever your trying to prove which i agreed with in the beginning anyway….

      • The configuration of the seating is different for a rugby game than an AFL game because they use the whole oval. It still means that capacity crowds for NRL are outside of QLD and NSW.

  • Horrible ground
