Samsung 49-inch QLED Gaming Monitor with Dual QHD Resolution (5120x1440) $2209 @ Harvey Norman

280

First post please take it easy.

Been keeping an eye on this monitor for a while now, waiting for the price to come down. Currently on sale at Harvey Norman for $2209 (15% Off). Seem like the pre-order is over and thus it doesn't include the free gaming bundle from pre-order period.

You're not interested in buying the top half?

Wow, the HN spec listing sucks, but for those wondering this is 120hz at 4ms gtg on a VA panel a better spec sheet can be found here

  • I was trying to find out yesterday… What was the preorder bundle?

    If only it had Gsync

You realise that's not an issue anymore?

      • It is an issue, FreeSync has issues with Gsync. It's not on the "verified" monitors list so probably has issues. My current FreeSync monitor tears with Gsync turned on.

Already read people saying it's fine with this model. Plenty are. The list isn't the be all and end all. I believe they've just paid the money to be on it officially…

        • I have the predecessor monitor CHG90 and report no issues with GSync even though it's not on the list.

$2209… wonder how long it'll be before it gets to the $1400-$1500 mark. That being said I promised wife that I wouldn't be changing my CHG90 for a while (after I changed my X34 after a year).

Hmm this Monitor or a LG oled with plenty of change to spare 😂

I think this was just officially released in AU. Will be an interesting buy once the price drops around ~ $1500.

Any idea how this compares to the 49" 5k resolution from LG?

5120x1440 is still less pixels to render then 4k monitor.

I'd rather this at the insane aspect ratio over a 4k monitor ….. I'd get one if more games supported SUPER ultrawides…

With these 49" 5120x1440 monitors you can run them in picture by picture mode (PBP) and it's like having two 27" QHD monitors but without the bezel.
