It's not really fair to blame AliExpress as they're a marketplace exactly like eBay. Some sellers are worse than others ;)
Of my hundred or so orders I've only ever had about 2 not be delivered and they were tiny <$1 products.
There are probably a few reason behind this slow process, one is a dodgy seller that is not helpful and by not posting the item quickly and with a good postage, the other one possibly is how AliExpress manages this platform. If there is an item that I possibly don't need to use it for two month I might get it from china but in this case (vent holder) there is a need for it so I pay $5 instead and get it in less than a week. Maybe it's just me :) But the first impression of AliExpress was not good at all.

Got the Cygnett from the JB hi-fi $7.95 deal a few days ago, and within hours it just falls off when going over speed bumps / starts tilting to the side.
Don't think it's the 3M adhesive, but rather the strength of the magnet
There are many factors like strength of magnet, weight and design of the phone, angle of attack, etc.
I've used magnetic mounts for a very long time but recently stopped because nothing could hold the weight of and charge my note 9.
You just need a better magnet. Old 3.5" (or bigger) hard disc drives are a good source!
And put the iron disc close to the centre of gravity of the phone.
I have the Snap Wireless charging magnetic mount. My solution to get it to hold the weight of my Note 9 was to use rubber bands to keep the mount attached to my air vent.
Have you tried one of the 6-magnet ones? I think they are the strongest ones around (last time I checked)
We don’t have a phone that big, but it definitely stronger at holding bigger phones / holding through a case.
(The Logitech DRIVE Mount is also really strong, but that is a suction cup mount rather than a vent mount)
The part i’m more concerned about on this one is not the magnet or the adhesive - it’s the ball joint. There doesn’t seem to be any way to lock the angle in place, so i’d be concerned that the angle won’t hold, and the phone would end up drooping / angling down from the weight.
The one we use now has a tightening ring to lock the position in place. That means you can set it at any angle, and it will hold.
Anyone have one of these, and care to comment on the ball joint?

I got a refund after two and a half month not receiving a vent holder from AliExpress. I will never purchase again from them, they super slow. I would pay a little bit more and get it from a seller in Australia off eBay.
