I could be wrong, but I think Canon is content with the small lens line up already. If you need better and sharper glass, the lenses will be naturally bigger and heavier; and therefore you may aswell use the EF adapter and access all the big and expensive Canon glass you can handle.
I think that there is already a comprehensive (enthusiast grade) range of glass for the eos m mount. and with an adaptor you can tap into the ef range where possibilities are limitless. Canon did their best to keep ef m lenses small which works great in medium range of focal distance, anything wider or longer with a wide aperture will make glass opposite of small (there's a reason why ef 70-200 2.8L weighs a ton).

I have this camera and it’s great for the price. Pair it with a good lens and you can get some great results.
