Need a Portable Switch Charger by Tomorrow. What Do I Get?

Going to be on a couple bus trips 5 hours in each direction starting tomorrow

I have a switch full of games, but know the battery won't last the entire trip.

What sort of portable charger will get me through and won't break the bank?

Preferably one I can get locally. I.e. no online only deals as it obviously won't arrive in time

Thanks for any help :)

  • Ebgames, target, etc have a USB-C high W battery pack around $70 from memory.

Cygnett pro 10,000. Fast charge 3.0
Switch battery size is about 4,000 and last between 3-5hours. Depending how extreme your gaming is. This charger will charge your switch twice.

    • Agree, I've used this (https://www.thegoodguys.com.au/cygnett-10000-mah-chargeup-pr…) on flights and works well.

      • So, just because I'm new to the portable charger concept, will this charge my switch whilst I'm playing? Or will it just slow down its discharge rate?

And generally I should plug this into the switch when the battery starts getting low, right?

Either way, thank you for this!

        • It's effectively the same as using the wall charger. I generally just have it plugged in the whole time, then when I can't have it plugged in the switch/device is fully charged. Essentially I use the battery whenever I can so the device has the most charge when I can't use the charger or when it's inconvenient.

  • Don't know where you could get one but get one with USB-PD as switch supports this.

    • What does that mean? Sorry. New to the portable charger stuff

      • USB-PD is the USB's (standard) fast-charging protocol, stands for "Power Delivery". Common ones are 18W (at the low end) up to 100W (at the high end, not sure if they've gone above this).

From memory, I think a Switch naturally charges at something like 39W, so something like a 30W or 45W USB-PD charger would be around that mark.

Have a read of Switch Chargers

The Romoss SW20 has been on here on sale a few times, with PD and apparently a Good+ rated charger for the Switch - although the linked image isnt working for me.

Edit: Sorry, didn't see that you needed it by tomorrow. Rules out Amazon, but the link should still help you with Switch charging info.

    • Thanks for the info anyway :)
