  • What are your thought on Dr. Lewinn's range of product? Do they actually work?

    • Sorry I've never tried their products.

      • They use Juveleven™ aka Acetyl Hexapeptide-51 Amide , which is a topical mimetic of botox, in some of their products, with mixed reviews. Was interested in how effective it was. In theory , it shouldn't work ( there's a reason why botox is injected and not just rubbed on ). Might just have to try it myself. Thanks for posting.

        • which product uses the one that Australian swimmer got suspended for.
          Sounds awesome

All the benefit of steroids without the side effects

Im not joking, if its legal why not have a lookee see

          • @Baghern:

which product uses the one that Australian swimmer got suspended for.

            Is this a question?

        • Acetyl Hexapeptide-51 Amide

Interesting! Just read this and it looks like my Lacura caviar moisturisers have them :P

At first I thought it was Argireline but that's Acetyl Hexapeptide-8.

          • @moocher: Is the Lacura working? Are you looking younger by the day? The mrs tried that and didn't like it. Olay is the only moisturiser that works for her.

            • @[Deactivated]: It's still sitting in my cupboard.

Are you looking younger by the day

No moisturiser is going to do that!

              • @moocher: Olay works for my wife. Her skin was looking "dull and tired" ( her words!) and she had some hormonal breakouts after she had our third child. She used a 2% BHA exfoliant at night before applying her olay regenerist and her skin went back to being flawless within 2 weeks.

                Edit: Olay's blurb

                • @[Deactivated]: Occasionally I apply 2% BHA, wait half an hour so it soaks in before applying a clay mask. I notice a difference, particularly with blackheads but your wife might not have that. Here's a link

                  • @tictoc2: She doesn't have blackheads. It was more little pimples , like whiteheads. She used Paula's Choice 2% BHA at the time. She used it religiously for a fortnight until her skin cleared and was glowy again. Then only applied it whenever she remembered. It was only a sample size bottle and lasted forever.

She's gone back to her pre-baby skincare routine now which is Garnier 3-in-1 wash , scrub and mask, which does contain clay, salicylic acid ( BHA) and zinc , followed by her olay moisturiser . She also has the olay serum but rarely uses it.

                    • @[Deactivated]: I probably should add that BHA isn't for everyone. I've tried it 2 nights in a row and instead of the glow-up I was looking forward to , I looked like a leprosy 😒 My skin was peeling and flaky, almost like when your tan is coming off. I do have normal to dry skin that gets seriously dry in cold weather. That could have been a factor and also not wearing any moisturiser over it.

For dry skin , I would seriously recommend Neutrogena Hydraboost serum. We got a bottle for free from some Amazon deals and it's done wonders for my skin: no dry patches in sight, not even along my jawline after I shave, which is where I used to get them in winter.

                    • @[Deactivated]: I've got Paula's choice 2% BHA, which works great for me but I keep forgetting to use it. My go-to products are Swisse Manuka Honey and Antipodes Kiwi seed oil eye cream. I bought the eye cream during the last sale and was hesitant to buy because it was still pricey but I needed something and I like it. Browsing AusSkincare on Reddit helps.

            • @[Deactivated]: My mother loves Lacura Caviar, but she's 60+

        • Struggling to find which products contain it.

  • Forty Fathoms excluded. have they ever on sale before?

My fav product, a serum has to be Botani's Olive Serum, paired with the Sukin night cream.

After a body oil, I like nuxe but it's not an everyday product, any recommendations?

  • the website states free regular shipping for purchase $100 and over

    • It was $50 at the time of posting, they must have just changed it back. They reduced it late June

      I'll update the deal description.

Was very happy to pick up the overnight peel from Derma E for 50% off! Underrated product IMO. Also decided to try LRP effaclar duo, have high hopes for this one based on reviews and the ingredients list.
