Sit your kiddies down with a glass of milk, some cookies, for a night of wholesome family fun with these 9 strapping young lads from Staten Island, New York.

Vinyl LP pressing. This debut emerged as one of the most influential rap albums of the '90s.It laid the groundwork for the rebirth of New York hip-hop, an underground, hardcore new sound that went on to influence Biggie, Jay-Z, Nas, and Mobb Deep, among others.Rap became at once theatrical and cerebral, MCs lyricists and powerhouses capable of violence, metaphor, humour and revolution in their performing. The album is full of hard, gritty beats, references to pop culture and martial arts, eclectic piano and string sounds, as well as surrealist overtones, and there truly was nothing like it in the hip-hop world at the time.Even now, it's an original album in a league of its own.Get it.You won't regret it.* Genre: Rap, Hip-Hop

    Is anyone?

wants 12 bucks to ship with prime, i think it's only free above 49 bucks :)

    • Yep, $31.72 delivered for me. Kills the deal.

    • The $16.74 version ships from US so shipping is only free if you have Prime AND it's part of a $49+ spend on International.

There's a $28.27 version that ships from AU and has free shipping with Prime OR $39 spend.

For those wondering who Wu-Tang Clan is, this was the group Inspectah Deck started out with.

    • +1

Who would know of Inspectah Deck but not Wu-Tang? It's not like Deck or Czarface are a household name.

      • +2

        Every hero needs a villain

      • Because he was a well known DJ and local producer, before the Wu Tang formed.

    • amen

I was trying to make a little joke because obviously Inspectah Deck is not the most well known member of the group. Having said that he is actually one of my favourite members of the group. Highly underrated. Key verses in all the best tracks including the opening verse on Protect Ya Neck. It was a good joke and I stand by it.

29 minutes per side on this LP. This means reduced loudness and dynamics. Some of the Amazon reviews seem to agree.

    • Is that due to grooves on both sides?

      • +3

No it means the grooves have to be cut finer and closer together to fit all 29 minutes on each side. Therefore dynamics suffer.

    • +1

Thanks for this, seems from the comments that the quality of this LP sucks. It's one of the great albums, but won't be wasting my money on this release.

Are these guys a new rap group? How does it compare to other rappers like Post Malone or Macklemore?

    • +1

I must tell you that the Clan is a danger to the public… but still for many men just to hear of the name fills them with hate and loathing.

    • +1

      Favourably.

Any other deals on hip hop lps? Wish they'd put on the buy 1 get 1 free deal again

  • +1

At that price I'm tempted to buy the record, and worry about getting a record player later on.
