It’s worthy to note restrictions for each airline vary however for Qantas the restriction is 115 linear cm. (Excluding Dash8 flights - 105cm)
Linear is calculated by adding the dimensions and the 55 here adds to 115
In saying that, catch the wrong person on the wrong day, heated discussions about interpretation of this restriction can and have occurred
As pointed out in a post by bozbargain, this is true as well for large suitcases (over 80cm) which has caught people out as well.
It is however a rarity but that’s no help if you’re the one it happens to

Great deal, happy with my 68cm one from last month (which was slightly more expensive then). Please note that the 55cm one is officially too big for carry-on luggage with most airlines whereas the 81cm even exceeds common check-in limits (linear dimensions above 158cm). 75cm seems to be the sweet spot here, both in terms of value for money as well as guaranteed hassle free check-in! I only got the 68cm since it (just) fits into another 78cm Samsonite I have (for storage).
All very true with so many varying restrictions imposed by different airlines.
In the case of this 55 and say Qantas… it does actually match the restriction of 115cm linear.
You are right though catch the wrong person on the wrong day and they can start nit picking… but technically you good to go.

Great pick up but whats happening is the discount rounds down the dollars so that explains the variance.

Id love to see the negative reviews you speak of but I can assure you of our legitimacy.
I am weary of all the online sellers , needed to claim warranty and they wanted me to pay for postage to get it repaired ? For a suitcase , the postage more than the suitcase itself . That’s was bagworld so not sure what the policy with these guys is. Also what’s the point of a small 55cm that’s too big to carryon!
Warranty conditions are usually imposed by the manufacturers of returning the goods to your place of purchase.
This is a generally a requirement of the bag owner made by the manufacturer.
Most luggage on-liners will have the same policy however as we are affiliated with the official repairer of most brands, we have other options available to try to ease the burden.
This may not have help you but hopefully clarify something.
