Miele CX1 Blizzard Multifloor $359 Delivered @ Appliances Online

520
20OFF2019

Been looking to get a Miele CX1 vacuum for a bit, came across this deal, cheapest deal so far for the multi floor. Difference is this model has rubberized rollers suited for hard floors and does not come with the turbo brush head compared to the cats and dogs model.

How much more power does this have over Dyson v11?

    • +10

The V11 has 175AW at Max setting from memory so about 10 mins, while this has 400AW https://www.vacuumsguide.com/miele-blizzard-cx1/#Suction_Pow….

I looked at the V10 and V11 but for 3x the price and 1/3 the suction power during normal use, I'd rather get this and a cheaper Xiaomi V6 - V8 handheld.

      • Thanks! Very helpful advice and came just in time as I was looking for a replacement cleaner.

    • +19

I'd take a Miele over a Dyson any day!!

      Much better vacuum, quieter too.

      • You tipped me over. My old vacuum died and I was considering a Dyson and then this came up. Thanks op!

        • +4

Yes the Miele takes bags, bit I find the Dyson so dusty to empty and the little cyclone holes get all clogged up. It loses suction over time. I have had to pull them entirely apart and air compress out all the crap.

And they are so noisy when running!

          You'll enjoy the Miele.

@placard: I regret buying my Dyson

          • +1

@placard: Sounds like you have a different model since this is the CX1 Blizzard which is their bagless model.

I have a bagged Miele (C2) and would also reccommend it but I suspect neither of us have experience with this bagless CX1.

            • @bargainpersona: Oh good point, I thought all Miele vacuums were bagged versions.

I agree, I prefer bags wholeheartedly - usually one lasts 3-4 months, and they aren't that expensive. So much less messy than emptying a bagless.

I second this. We have a 5 year old Miele still running strong, but Mrs wanted a Dyson because it's cordless.

Worst purchase ever. It's weak af and battery life is terrible in "Powerful" mode. Miele is much much stronger and worth the hassle of being corded

    This deal sucks.

    • Care to explain!

      • +2

I thought vacuum cleaners sucked up dirt. Obviously that comment was way over some peoples heads here.

        • -4

You should have said this vacuum sucks if you wanted to be sarcastic. You would need to work on your puns.

  • Should have bought this instead of Xiaomi V9, :)

    • +1

Get both XD, this is good for a proper clean, while the Xiaomi V9s good for small stuff or the car.

  • Thanks OP!

While this is a good price, I wouldn't recommend dealing with Appliance Online.

    • Why not?

    • +4

Always had great experiences with appliances online

    • Care to tell us what’s wrong with appliances online? I haven’t had a problem with them. Always prompt delivery.

  • Been scouting out for a deal on a Miele for so long! Thanks OP!

I have never understood why people buy bag-less and especially an over priced Dyson. The only advantage a bag-less has over a bagged vacuum cleaner is that it's cheaper to run (sort of) as it doesn't require you to buy bags. However it is disgusting, filthy and unhygienic. You're breathing in the dust every time you empty a dyson, not to mention the sticks to your body - it is gross.

The worst part is, the suction is terrible. A $50 K-mart bagged vacuum will clean better than a $1,200 Dyson.

    • The CX1 Blizzard is bagless.

      • +2

Which makes it all the same.

I am an advocate of bagged Vacuum cleaners. Miele never used to make bagless rubbish, but fashion trend dictates the market so here they are with their version, which I'll never touch. B

        • +2

I have to disagree, with a good HEPA filter good bagless vacuum perform just as well as the bagged ones, with less power, noise and lower running costs.

With bagged vaccum cleaner as the bags get filled the motor have to increase power to maintain suction, that is why most bagged vacuums have higher power draws.

    • +1

I am also confused as to why anyone would ever buy a Dyson. However, there are ways to empty a bagless vacuum that do not expose the user to much dust, and not having to send full bags to landfill means that it is slightly more environmentally friendly.

    • +1

That same dust was in your house already, not like your bringing more in, empty the bin outside if your scared of a few dust particles.

  • Four different CX1 models, prices vary from 379 to 898. I can't see much different to justify the big price differences.

  • Seems to be some confusion in the comments here, the CX1 Blizzard is bagless. Miele is known for good bagged vacuums. Unfortunately reading opinions online the CX1 Blizzard doesn't perform as well as Miele's bagged vacuums.

  • Just got one, thanks!

  • Thanks my electrolux ultracaptic I got for $199 from a bargain here 5 years ago has been awesome suction wise and has given great life but it just gave up the suction a few days ago and it’s all sealed can’t repair it:

    https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/176335

    Good timing on this one

  • Bought one! Thank you

Recently picked up the Cat & Dog version with the turbo head brush head when Bing Lee eBay had them cheap, same body/motor as the above deal.

This is a very nice machine which replaced a dying DC29, runs quiet, super powerful. Just used it to on the weekend to vacuum cars and house and it really has some strong suction. Also easy to drag around the house on carpet and hard floors due to nice solid rubber wheels on the board and head tool.

Easy to empty and I just dump straight in the wheelie bin, I would rather not faff around with paper bags.

Has a power dial where you can change the suction power, most times I leave it on 3/4 setting as 100% power is kinda scary and really get stuck on stuff.

Great deal just picked up one for the wifes birthday.

  • i have 4 years old Miele, still going strong. Clean where my dyson V8 can't clean it.

  • Op the RRP of $799 and savings off RRP are incorrect it is actually $699 as shown in the Miele link below;

    https://shop.miele.com.au/en/vacuum-cleaners/bagless-cylinde…

    Still a good bargain nonetheless.

I'd consider the https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/11071460-Miele-2000-Watts-COMPLE… at $414.20 if you want a bagged machine.

    • I think it works out to $434, not $414, unless I'm doing something wrong?

  • Even though this is a good price, I would not use them in principal for the following reasons below…

    1. They've promised things in the past and have broken their promise to me.

    2. For an online shop, they should everything cheaper than a physical shop, but every time I want to purchase an appliance, they are always more expensive.

    3. When they "price match", they add shipping, so they are actually more expensive than going to Good Guys or JB or Harvey Norman and picking up the good. Don't believe me, look on their own website.

    https://www.appliancesonline.com.au/our-prices.aspx

"Price must include all costs including any shipping charges. If the advertised price is for pick-up only we reserve the right to charge a delivery service fee."

    • When they "price match", they add shipping,

      That is not uncommon.

      they are always more expensive

Where have you found the CX1 cheaper than this price?

      • I think it is poor form that when an ONLINE shop "price matches" that they add shipping.

The CX1 is a discontinued model. I don't want one.

I suggest that you check Appliances Online prices for current stocked items and compare it to regular shops. You will see that current stocked items at Appliance Online are more expensive than regular shops.

  • Thanks! First Miele and pretty excited to do a complete clean with this bad boy.

  • Does anyone know whether the turbo head from the old Cat & Dog S5261 will fit this vacuum cleaner?

  • Where is this "legendary service"?

4 days on and I have a "Your order has been processed" with no dispatch or delivery estimate

Starting to think the post above from Serpeant is true

    • I think earliest delivery is 3rd of September when I ordered.

      • Where does it say that?

        • it asks to schedule delivery when placing an order

          • @mirovich: I looked at my order PDF and it says dispatch date 25/09 very long :(

Called them and they said next week should come in hopefully

  • Got an SMS for the 3rd September delivery, which is what I selected on checkout and what is shown on the email.
