LOL, but will it exceed what the items are worth ????

mystery bags are not deals. you are buying products that you might have no use for, in which case you are simply throwing away money.

If its from mwave it will be worse than the COTD offering

    • +2

      I don't think that's possible.

      • yes it is, mwave is worse… by a nose…

      • True, but i am not betting on it ;)

strange that it is $100 for the 5 item bag - wouldnt you just buy two $50 bags and get 6 items?

    • wouldnt you just buy two $50 bags

      ummm… no….

  • i dont trust mware and COTD rrp it much higher than the real rrp at a like HN ,BL or OW

  • Can'r trust stuffs like that. and it is not a deal.

  • I like mystery bags, but $50 is quite alot of money to spend for what could end up being junk.

it qualifies for an automatic NEG.

This is the worst offering I have ever seen from an online retailer….

    The only guarantee is that:

The value of the items will exceed the RRP price of the package.

ie $50.01 …. but who pays RRP on computer products? (with the possible exception of Harvey Norman Consumers).

Perhaps its a left over April fools joke?

  • No deal.

  • +1

Sure, here's my $50. I don't care what you send me!
Got anything else I can buy without knowing what it is? Price clearly no issue.
    (sarcasm)

Surely this is purely to milk money from the compulsive shoppers who can't go past a deal. No sane person would buy this!

    • Possible bag contents:
      1GB USB stick
      512MB Flash memory card
      IBM branded lanyard
      25-in-1 USB card reader
      DVI-to-VGA dongle

      Anyone else got some ideas?

5 pack verbatim 3.5 inch floppy disks

        • at 1995 prices maybe

      • +1

        norton antivirus 2010 for sure!

whatever it is, it's going to be stuff that noone else would buy.

      • I would guess the vast majority consists of gadgety crap (eg doraemon USB stick, 1Gb RRP $24.95) or junk jewellery with even more drastically inflated RRP.

  • Hilarious. I do hope mwave see all these comments. ^_^
How to downvote my own post? :>

At least sites like Zazz say what might be in the mystery bag .. sometimes.
Mwave have given newsletter subscribers absolutely no idea on this one.

Any comments on the other deals in the newsletter?

  • Pretty crap deal.

  • I reckon I might punt $10 on a lucky dip….. but $50!

    Don't think so…..

  • How can a "Mystery" be bargain!?

  • I just wanted to join in on the crazy amount of negs this is getting, but seriously a $50 lucky dip is a pretty rich ask, plus how is it a bargain when you don't even know what you're getting?

  • +1

So….whose going to take one for the team and purchase?

  • And the sure-fire winner for why you shouldn't buy this is (quote from their site):

    Availability:
    In Stock with Suppliers YES
    In Stock at Mwave: NO

So it's not even at their shop so you're probably getting suppliers left over junk (P200 CPU: $120RRP, 56k Baud modem: $150RRP (at the time we bought it) and 52x CD Drive: $90RRP). At least with Crap Of The Day you can get a refund on your $10 mystery item (Not sure about MWave's policy).

I might make a mystery bag and sell random junk too. It seems to be a good way to rip off the suckers of the world, legally.

  • no bargain

  • nahhh
