Best Bang for Buck Dash Cam?

My cheapo bargain shop dash cam died after a surprisingly longer period of life than expected. So now I'm after recommendations for a new dash cam.

My budget is around $100.

Is the Blueskysea B1W Wi-Fi Mini Dash Cam still OzBargain dash cam of choice?

Thanks

    Best Bang for Buck

Look for one that has an internal battery.

      Preferably a capacitor

      • +1 on the Capacitor (though its kinda rare).
You can makeshift an in-car battery (like a Black Box) for the units anyway, using cheap Battery Banks.
Then if the camera allows, you can record 24h non-stop, or active monitoring when the camera senses physical and visual movement.

there are many deals and forums which have covered your question.

  • I may not be able to recommend any specific camera but there's a couple here for <$100 which all have built-in Wi-fi.

  • I love my BlueSkySea B1W - was popular on OzB: no battery, decent recording quality and inconspicuous. Survived the entire summer mounted to my windscreen in direct sunlight (car is outside all day) which is all I can ask for. App is easy to use - quick to view and copy videos, but had to disable the auto-record feature as it kept saving "crashes" when going over small bumps etc. $79 on Amazon (free shipping with Prime) or ~$72 shipped from China using eBay.

  • The blueskysea mini 0906 is my pick if you need both front and rear high quality recording with a suite of features for a low budget. Otherwise the B1W is the best you'll do in that price range picture quality and feature wise.

No forum love for the Viofo A119 range? With the V3 released not long ago, the V2 should be a good price.

  • I have the Blueskysea B1W and the quality is great. The only problem I have is after hot/very cold days, the adhesive eventually unsticks and falls off. I press it back on and it's fine for weeks until it happens again.

    • That sounds really annoying. My el cheapo only did this very rarely.

The Viofo A119S. Check out the night time quality - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qYzYPfC9HVY

i have viofo 119s. you might get that for around $100.

  • How about a gadget covering both cam and navigator that easy to use ?

  • I use an Apeman C370 just for front view. Was $52 off Amazon Aus. Low profile and records pretty good for a budget camera.

A rear view cam though would be very handy though I must say. Apeman have a few models with front & rear cameras if U have the patience to setup the wiring for the rear camera. I think the model is C550 I believe which is about $90. Low profile n decent quality.
