I have the UCS X-Wing and Slave I… both of which I've now packed away.
These things are awesome, but I got over their awesomeness pretty quick, mainly because they take up a chunk of room. Plus the Falcon is enormous, you'd need a lot of space for it.

Still, this is a good deal for a remarkable kit.

    • it becomes a dust collector soon after it’s built. For the exact reason you mentioned, we didn’t place the order with DJ in the weekend and won’t now with Myer. The price is good though.

    • +2

they take up a chunk of room

For the Millenium Falcon, just paint a wall like the back of an imperial battle cruiser's bridge, and mount the Falcon on the wall. Just like in Episode 5.

    • Yeah a lot of people don't realize this that the toy is too ridiculously big. Even better those people who buy it to sell later. I'm sure they will find their profits eaten up by storage and postage.

  • Lego bugatti for $480 using the same code as well :)

ive bought cheaper under $450. I think $399 would be a good price.

      • +1

Yeah. I'm gonna hold out a little longer for it. ;)

    Great deal on this set.

I was hoping the roller coaster would be on sale too, but still full RRP before the eBay offer. :-(

    • try looking at the stores on this node:
      https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/477857

there are a few hobby stores with 20% off using PAPA20. Hopefully one of them is selling the roller coaster!

      • They are, but no exceptional deals.
HobbyWH have $399 on their own site (as a 20% sale), & still have their normal price ($480-odd) on eBay so the sale code only makes slightly cheaper.

Myer's done double-dipping before (sale on Lego, combined with eBay code) - was hoping for a repeat. :-)

    • Same, also wanted the roller coaster.

This is the second time it's hit the all-time historical low, like it did at the start of the year.

    • +1

Yep I missed it that time and regretted it deeply hence why I posted this when I saw it.

Dang, that is a lot of money for Lego, although I guess considering how many pieces there are it's to be expected.

I'm guessing it's a case of me not understanding pop-culture but what do people do with something like this? Do you look at it and remember how much you like the movies?

Props to those that can afford it though.

  • If you buy this, prepare for the UCS Star Destroyer in a few weeks. It'll be ~$1k.

  • +1

I just finished building this yesterday. Very fun build. Although it's the only lego build I've done so maybe it's just new to me. As soon as I finished it I bought the UCS X-Wing from eBay. Just waiting for some cabinets to display this thing. Plus I bought a lighting kit for it which has to be installed.

  • Can you Afterpay or Zippay with Myer Ebay?

Looks to be out of stock now

    • Last time it dropped to this price and went out of stock, they relisted it shortly after. Keep an eye on this post until the coupon code expires.

      • +1

Ya I'm definitely doing that, I checked that the code will work till 26th, so a few days for it to get back in stock :)

  • Myer's own online store still has stock at 20% off ($1,039.96) for anyone interested:

    YES!!!!!!!!!!!
So glad it's sold out and didn't cause my wife to divorce me.

(Or at least delay the inevitable. Thanks Ozbargain)

You could have an amount go automatically into each of your "beer money" accounts, each week. No judgement on what each does with their money. Bills get paid, no one feels trapped, no biffo.

  • If I didn't already have a wall literally filled with video games or a wife, I'd consider this.

    • +4

How do you fill a wall with a wife?

      Small pieces, behind plaster.

"Hello, I'd like to report a murder"

Gf already gifted me the 911 RSR a few weeks back. Sent her this link without any comments. Received a middle finger emoji.
