I remember reading that DEHP were found in the passion fruit flavouring only and it was removed, so I think it should be safe. For milk tea, there shouldnt be any flavouring anyway. Just google Chattime DEHP and you will see the stories.

With regards to the recent incidents at Taiwan about potentially contaminant of harmful DEHP to beverage industry ingredients, CHATIME adopt quick reactions that temporarily delisted the suspected passion fruit series products to avoid over concerns and obtain a responsible move to protect our valued customers prior to government examination result released.
Now we have got the full test reports from relevant Authority in Hong Kong and Taiwan. On 30 May 2011, our products are tested SAFE by Hong Kong Food and Environmental Hygiene Department that NO DEHP is detected at all. And on 31 May 2011, our products are also Tested Clear of DEHP by the Taiwan Food and Drug Administration and Health Department assigned Food Safety Institute International. (Attachments below).
CHATIME feels regretful that our responsive action create of extensive reactions and unreal press coverage in Taiwan, Hong Kong and Australia that generate a misleading imagery that our products been contaminated.

yeah the new batch of the production they have remove DEHP, how about the old stock? do you think these franchise would remove from their old inventories? to be safe, i prefer wait another 6 months, until other people consume all their old inventories. they didn't mentioned they have recall the old inventories on the announcement.
can anyone confirm if this drink is safe to drink right now? couple weeks ago there are some rumors on the chinese website saying that certain taiwanese food products contains some prohibited ingredient.
