[VIC] adidas Ultraboost Mid $40 @ adidas Popup/Temporary Store

511

There is a Adidas popup/temporary type store on Swanson St (between Lonsdale and little bourke) that seems to have lots of different shoes on discount.

I picked up the ultraboosts, colour might not be the best, but at well.
Decent amount of stock at lunch time, no idea what it's like now.

Some others I noted down
Eqt lacing adv $65
Deerupt runner parley $50
Energy boost SE $65
Gazelle super $40
Ultratech $40

Just adding some of the pics of these:

Good for a midnight jog at a construction site

    • Looks like they would make pretty good slippers when you get home as well, a truly multipurpose shoe.

it's okay if you buy kmart sneakers, we won't judge you.

These don't look much better to be honest…

My Adidas Mi Glide Boost Supernova's I got for free with my Samsung Galaxy S3 in early 2014 still look brand new and I wear them a couple of times a week.

I dont know why theyre downvoting this, they look shocking for a shoe that was selling for $220. I thought the same when I looked at the picture.

      • Probably why they are now $40 because not many bought at $220.

If they were selling for $220 a business owner will have rocks in their heads to sell it at $40.

        • Yea some colours make a nice pair look awful but these look like a weird knockoff.

        • Or had rocks in their head when they purchased too many :)

          • @PCAviator: Every business takes risks buying into certain products.

They are in it to make money. Risks/gamble that sometimes don't pay off.

If they can sell shoes for $220 why should they sell it at $40. It's business 101. Sell products at a price buyers are willing to pay.

Clearly it isn't selling at $220. So they are trying to at least recoup costs with very little profit if any.

    • My (black) ones are the most comfortable I have ever bought, like walking on clouds, from memory paid ~$125 with 50% discount

  • this ultraboosts were a prototype see link'

    https://www.goat.com/sneakers/consortium-ultra-boost-mid-pro…

    • They weren't a prototype, they were a full general release, the colourway is just named prototype.

There is some pretty cool stuff in there if you look. Yesterday Picked up Sobakov boost for $90. Awesome shoes. NMD winter for $70 (I think) in there. Bit of a riot atmosphere though lol

  • Cool color, I wish I was there and would definitely buy 2 pairs. (^_^) Hope we can see in Brisbane same cheap price soon.

    Where is this place?

    • Melbourne CBD. Don't know exact address, but it's on Swanson st, between Lonsdale and little bourke.

  • Do you know what time it's opened until today?

  • when is it open till?

    • Sorry not sure. Was in a bit of a rush.

    • I think they said Sunday last day

  • Thanks. I actually went there and buy a shoe.

    Was on sale for $70

    • Any chance you got a receipt? Wondering what name they’re trading under

    • Only one shoe? You should've asked for the other one.

      • Yeah damn!! Or was a bargain though.

  • Shoes for White Knights! 🤣😂

Would be very careful with this. Not endorsed by adidas Australia. They’re looking to shut it down. Unsure if imports or fakes.

      Shoes are legit

      • What’s an easy way to prove that, for those uninitiated like me?

        • -5

          Hmm trust me? Haha..

      • They are suspect but it's really hard to say what's going on here.

They have the END Clothing x Adidas Terrex Agravic XT as an example. These have thermochromic components and they're present and working on the shoes in store.

They have some Consortium shoes where they've got embossing on suede which isn't well defined on some of the shoes.

The guy I spoke to in store reckoned this was out of a container bought in the US, and I reckon they're probably not meant to be using the Adidas logo the way they are.

        • Poor quality control is a Hallmark of Adidas authenticity.

I'd be dubious of it being from the US, as the consortium UB 19 was the Asia Pacific limited release.

          • @djlee: Yeah, there's a lot of stuff that's dodgy about this.

It's definitely a grey market outlet and it's not operating in a particularly sophisticated way. Whether the shoes themselves are legit or not is another question…

    • I suspect it's a boutique clearing stock.. my guess is sneakerboy

      • Sneakerboy wouldn’t be dumb enough to dress up a shop in adidas colours. Especially when they have a clearance outlet store at South Wharf. This stock has to be parallel imported

        • Oh didn't know sneakerboy had an outlet store at South Wharf. Was wondering why I haven't seen a pop up clearance from them lately.

        • My guess was based on the fact that they've pulled everything consortium off their website and very limited originals range. Thought maybe they're discontinuing their account.

        • Can you confirm Sneakerboy has an outlet in DFO South Wharf?

        • So the purchase on my credit card was charged to SNEAKERBOY. You were saying? I guess sneakerboy is not as smart as you think.

          • @djlee: The plot thickens. Wonder what adidas think about that

          • @djlee: It isn't sneakerboy. You're looking at information provided by a third party database that takes suggestions from users.

The receipt provided is from "Fashion Choice"; their ABN isn't Sneakerboy's and the registrant is different too (it's registered to an individual with their home address, so I'm not going to post it).

            • @LiamF: So my bank is using information provided by a third party database that takes suggestions from users?

            • @LiamF: The pending charge and receipt does say fashion choice, but when the charge was posted it was Sneakerboy Melbourne.

              • @djlee:

So my bank is using information provided by a third party database that takes suggestions from users?

I can only speak for NAB but yes.

Their transactions state (when you tap on them in the app) "The merchant details are provided by Look Who's Charging. While every effort is made to ensure they're correct, we can't guarantee it."

You can submit suggested changes to them in the NAB app.

They apparently also provide services to ANZ, CommBank and Westpac, as well as other banks.

                • @LiamF: When I tap on the transaction on my Westpac app it says:

                  Don't recognise this business?
Many businesses have a billing name different than the one you may know. Find out more online.

This would be there as places like boost juice or Baker's delight are billed to the actual franchisees.

                • @LiamF: Perhaps I should dispute the transaction just to get to the bottom of this.

But I would be very surprised if this isn't sneakerboy stock. They are off loading it via a a third party for some reason. And it'd be pretty difficult to explain otherwise how 'fashion choice' became 'sneakerboy Melbourne'.

    • So did you friend shut it down?

      • It's still open.

        • Was it last day today and was there much left? Tempted to make another visit.

          • +1

            @djlee: Dunno, didn't ask.

There was a bit left; not much in my size (US13).

    • Has it been shut down yet? Do I still need to be careful with it?

      • +1

        Still open, last day today.

Not surprised if it is Sneakerboy because quite a few Consortium pairs in there were stocked at Sneakerboy as well.

Looks like they could be trying to clear out some old stock.

        • If it's open tomorrow I'll stop past, but it sounds like they're gone :(

It's freaking awesome. Lots of consortium stuff. Guy said closes 8 tonight.

    • What kind of consortium stuff was there?

So disappointed I went home and didn’t check OzBargain before I left… :(

      • Mostly previous season's, but I picked up consortium UB 19 for $120!!

  • +1

It's for fifo workers to wear at camp after work.

  • Bit of a long shot but if anyone is going down there, could you help me out with a US9 of the prototype UB?

I can collect from you on Monday in the CBD if there’s a nice person that can help proxy for me :)

    • Lol, I was going to ask the same thing. Would love a pair in size US9 to US10 as well.

  • Uh Lonsdale and Little Bourke are parallel for a long distance. Can you be more specific?

    • It's only about 200 meters

    • +1

      Uhhhhhhh read it properly.

  • It’s at 255 Swanson Street, next door to Dragon Hot Pot.

Per the above comments, I’m fairly confident theses are parallel imports or possibly reps. It’s a really weird range with nothing that stood out. I considered the Winter XR1s but at $80 it’s pretty much what my fiancé paid from Adidas Outlet during sale at authentic retailer.

So tbh if you’re a sneaker head, sure take a look.. but you’ll probably be in the Sneakerboy/Emporium queues tonight for Yeezy 500s anyhow…

    • It's not a weird range. It's basically stuff that's been sitting, with some new releases thrown in.

    • +1

      lol….queuing up for sneakers :P

    • I also noticed I'm usually a size 11 but even the size 12 was just nice but what it's not that big an issue, looks decent.

  • is the popup store still going? TBH I would wear the prototype UB. Any size 9 left?

    • one of the comments above said it ends sunday

    • there are still available for size 9.5 10 11 US for that UB shoes

      • Is it possible to pick up a pair of US9.5 for me? I can pick them up from you next week.

        • there were only size 10 left

  • Went in there today and they still have some stock, although nothing amazing.

The staff said they will be there until they sell out. Said there is no new stock coming unfortunately.

The UB prototype were all gone. The only decent thing there were the UB19 Consortium in 8.5 and 13 US.

Had plenty of the Solebox Pureboost though.

Ended up leaving empty handed, but good luck to others.
