  • I think they ship.

Extra detail: Graphics card = nVIDIA GeForce G 105M

Wonder if the included battery is 3- or 6-cell?

I got this laptop earlier this year and its great. The only issue I have is with the trackpad which is aweful. I use a normal mouse anyways.
Also, the battery is nowhere near 10 hours. 5 at max.

is yours 3 cell or 6 cell?

Read reviews, it gets an excellent write up but the battery life is no where near what is quoted. Im still happy with it and 5 hours is still longer then what most laptops get these days.

All well and good, but you didn't really answer the question :P

lol, its the 6 cell battery. Maybe I am being a bit harsh, it might pull out 6 hours battery life. Still a good laptop though, the external DVD is a nice touch as well.

  • can anyone tell me the performance rating?

    • +1

Don't expect performance from the ULV cpus. However, I'm using a ULV cpu at the moment and I love it. This is what laptops should be IMO. Longer battery life and lighter.

    • The performance on this machine is not that good but it's still better than alot of netbooks out there. This particular processor is equivelant to a 2006 mid range ($800-$1200) intel core duo T2250.

  • That is a really good price.

This is a really good gaming notebook too. Some of the games I have running on mine include: Bulletstorm, Alice: Madness Returns, Bad Company 2, Fallout: New Vegas, Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood

  • Really? with the C2D processor? Regardless of the crappy processor + gfx, i got as it was the cheapest 13" i came across which wouldnt jst fail. For the same price i cuda gotten an i3 with a 1gb gfx but 14". I find that pricewise 13">14">15" easily. The other option i was looking fro was the thinkpadedge 420 i5 with 1gb gfx for 640. Decided to go with this. Hope i dont regret it

    • Nice. Can you please link us to that 14" with the i3 and 1GB GFX?

      Thankyou

      • Srry, i3 with 512 gfx, although much better on the benchmarks test. It was the Toshiba Centrecom deal fro 500~ delivered. For 560, I missed out on the levono thinkpad 14" i3 1gb gfx thru their affinity program by a week or two. You can still get the i5 version for 650~ right now (though you need access to their affinity program)

    • Yep, all those games with the SU7300 processor (which I believe is the same as the earlier models of the Alienware m11xs use). Obviously some more CPU intensive games (ie Bad Company 2) you won't be able to run them on the ultra settings but on medium-high settings you should be able to play at a decent 30-50fps if you do your tweaking right. Other games like Mass Effect 2 and Burnout Paradise you can easily have running on max settings.

My only gripe with this notebook is the touchpad as mentioned above in another post. But 99% of the time I use mine with a USB mouse so it's no big deal to me.

And lastly if you do decide to purchase this I would HIGHLY recommend you get rid of all the bloatware it comes loaded with, you can actually notice a tiny bit of improvement when playing games.

  • This might be what i need, had a toshiba u400 with a very poor battery life, and no HDMI
Does this have HDMI, and would it be likely to struggle using the Serato dj application (if anyone knows)?

Edit: a bit of googling tells me the su7300 processor is a little low to run Serato, looking forward to a 13inch with better specs eventually.

  • Wireless is only G… ? :( great price !
