Monitor to suit photography needs

Hi all,

Im after a new (bigger) screen that is good for photography.

Currently I have HP ZR22W with only 96% sRGB.

I have 2 candidates, each of which has its pros and cons.

1) Benq BL2420PT - can get it now for ~$240. Has 23.8" IPS, QHD resolution, 100% sRGB. However only 8 bit, USB 2.0 hub and apparently it's hit and miss with the quality.

2) Dell UP2516D - about $620 at the moment.
25" 8bit+FRC, QHD, 100% sRGB, USB 3.0 hub and good Dell support.
Downside is the price.

Both screens are calibrated from factory with report.

What do you guys think? Or any other suggestions?

My computer isn't the greatest, but works fine for me. I7-3770, 16GB DDR3, Nvidia Quadro K620, SSD drive.

Thank you

  • Monitor spec is only half of the story and budget monitors often don't come pre-calibrated.

Get one that factory calibrated or you need color calibrator.

    • Both of these are pre-calibrated from factory.

  • Get two of the benq, purely for more screen real estate.

    • Haha yeah it is a bit like get 3 BenQs or 1 Dell. Unfortunately I don't have space for a bigger/dual screen on my desk 😁

      • Get a dual screen mount. I have it on 2x 27” Dell screens.
