$20 AUD off International Flights in August 2019 @ BudgetAir.com.au

AUAUG20

I was looking to purchase a ticket for an international flight…and after comparing prices extensively, I came to realise, at least on BudgetAir.com.au that when I had the ShopBack notifier activated, the price of the same ticket was at least $40 higher than when it was turned off (thus negating the $6.50 cashback). So I went hunting for a coupon code and found this one that worked when I bought the ticket. Just enter into the Discount Code field on checkout.

The page I've linked to reads: Valid for travel on select dates. Destinations include Delhi, London, Auckland, Singapore, Bali and more. T&Cs apply.

However I dont know what the T&C's are or the selected dates or if there are any specific limitations on the locations (as that's all the information that is on the page). It worked for me when buying a one way from Delhi to Sydney.

Mod: Updated link directly to the promotion.

  • $20 off International Flights in August 2019

Is that enough to buy a bottle of water on the flight?

  • Hardly a bargain

    • It is if you can find a $20 flight…

Well its either $20 in your pocket or theirs. I know which one I'd prefer.

  • BudgetAir.com.au has a bit of work to do, it seems. I did a very standard search and received the message "No flights offered by airlines included on our website match your search criteria".

Same search on Skyscanner produces a long list of flights.

  • I booked four flights through budgetair just last week. One of the reasons I booked through them was because they offered 23KG of checked luggage (which was extra $$ booking direct through airline)

Everything suggested 23KG through the booking process but sure enough when I got the tickets they said 15KG.

I raised a support request and they came back very quickly with "We are sorry to misinform you about the luggage. You can carry 15 kilo for the luggage as per airline allowance." When I went back and asked for them to pay the additional $120 I'll need to pay or update the ticket they came back saying they would escalate it. I never heard back.

When I followed up again they said, log in to your portal and it will say 23KG. When I confirmed it was 15KG they finally came back and said they would refund once I show evidence of purchasing additional luggage at the airport. Flights are in 4 months so I guess we'll see what happens then.

Anyway long story short, but beware of what they advertise vs what you actually get. So far I've not been impressed by their service.

    • The ticket I booked was a direct flight from Delhi to Syd via Air India. The Air India website also said 30KG and so did BudgetAir (I checked both before booking). I've also just checked the e-ticket which also says "30KG per piece. 1 Piece allowed". So no issues with luggage limitations. Perhaps you just got unlucky at the time when the airline was changing its baggage allowance limits?

      • Nah it was a budgetair error. I'm not suggesting they did it on purpose but I would have expected them to be quicker to admit fault and fix the issue rather than have me chase up multiple times with a different story each time.

Really more an FYI for everyone to check their booking and the tickets via the airline website to confirm everything matches up.

They seem to have a very poor rating

  • The debacle with Bestjet should make everyone tread carefully in this line of business, and they were a "reputable" agency.

    • This deal is for BudgetAir.com.au not Best Jet though.
