I'm looking to pick one up for a bday present for tomorrow. Yes, it's very last minute.

Fake.. You are buying an M Band 4, not Mi Band 4.
@drose1: If you get one from Mi official store, you should be fine. It's other sellers that sold the fake items.

There are a few ebay sellers in Melbourne though reviews are sketchy. Could try asking for pickup.

Speaking of Melbourne though, maybe hit up Mostly Melbourne here on OzBargain? I don't think they've ever posted Mi Band deals, but they do stock other Xiaomi products and they're based in Melbourne, so they might be able to hook you up:

Again. I advise against this absolutely and completely, but at least you know these units are physically already in Melbourne. If you do - make sure you get a copy of the original receipt, make sure the box is sealed or the unit is actually brand new, etc. And even then I STILL ABSOLUTELY RECOMMEND AGAINST THIS.
Haha - HighAndDry, i really appreciate your effort! I'm not a big fan of gumtree for these sorts of things. I've emailed Dick Smith asking whether they can do expedited shipping.

Sorry couldn't help more - and absolutely agree that gumtree is… not a preferred option. Best of luck, I'm sure in all the tech stores in all of Melbourne, you'll walk into one that has one in stock.
