Thought this was super cheap for a 16 port switch. I grabbed one on Friday and they still seem to have 24 units available for delivery.

Might want to note that its 100m/b

    Obviously based on the price.

    • Also note the availability (as of 1416, 04/07)

      DELIVERY

Customer Fulfilment Centre (NSW)24 units in stock

      BUSINESS CENTRE PICKUP

Hawthorn Business Centre (VIC)2 units in stock
North Ryde Business Centre (NSW)6 units in stock

    • Umm.. well I included the specs which clearly say it is 16 x 10/100??? Not sure what else you want?

      • +1

Yeah, but it's pretty well hidden in the description and a lot of skim readers might miss it.

So Kaboda is HELPING you to describe your deal better. Don't go all defensive sheesh.

  • $37 posted to the GC or I can pick up a generic one from MSY for $32

  • just a bit over $1 a port

  • is 100m/b still good? I think I have a TP-Link switch which is 10/100 with my 360 connect by it and I downloaded 350MB DLC nice and quick.

    • 100mb is still fast enough for using with the internet.. you won't saturate it any time soon.. However, if you were transferring a file, from 1 machine to another, that is connected with the switch, it'll be limited to 10-11mb/sec, whereas gigabit ones can go as high as 100mb/sec..

      • Thanks Ill stick to my 10/100 then

        • 360 is only 10/100 anyway

        • the only reason i need a gigabit switch is because i now have a NAS with a gigibit interface…

copying large files is now about 10x faster…

other than that, it's not needed, not even for video streaming…

        • my Buffalo Nas (Raid 5) maxes out at around 42MB/sec, not exactly 10 times faster.

  • 8 port for $9

    • But only in Fortitude Valley (QLD): 9 units in stock

    • Yeah I was looking at getting this one, but was not available for delivery, only at a couple of the business centres.

  • Check out this link: http://www.ht.com.au/list.hts?keyword=V1405C%2D8

Demo 8-port is $17 while the brand new one is $9. Go figure. :D

  • Hey, can you link to the 24port? I can't find it, but will get the 16 if that's all that's available.

    • Oh, 24 units. whoops.

  • How about some cheap Gigabit routers?

  • what is the best bang per buck for power over ethernet router?

Useless, N wireless would be way faster!!

    • wireless \= wired

      WTF are you on about

    • Haha what a joke. Wireless N is "300mbps" but the real world speeds aren't much better than 100mbit wired. Then, try and have 16 pc's communicating over wifi N and 100mbit each… Wired > Wifi

  • Not a bad price but I won't purchase as it's not gigabit.
