I hate using Amex travel. It's often hard to even use the travel credits without being ripped off.
I found it generally ok for flights, which is how I normally use up my travel credits. Unfortunately flights are excluded for this offer, just like the last one.
I've mainly used the credits for flights - once I've paid the same price as was on the Virgin website, but mostly the flights cost more.
I've never had any problem with Amex Travel (yet) and found their prices pretty good, at least for international flights.
I concur with you. Never found a better deal with Amex travel even for flights. I've only used it to book flights and that too only because I wanted to use the travel credit.
I got it on my Platinum Reserve card. Unfortunately the T&Cs exclude flights or cruises.

I also find their international flights a rip off, always more expensive than what can be found via kayak because they add a margin of at least 20% on top of the actual price.
yes i agree but my qtar airline bookings worked out to be cheaper on amex travel and i mangaged somehow to get double travel credit vouchers to use for one account. their website is glitchy there's still another credit showing when i log i know thats incorrect as i used it but cant seem to be able to redeem it without errors.

i just noticed that i got the $50 credited for the last promo to my account for some flight bookings to my suprise. wish i had paid for the flights separately now using the different amex cards instead of paying with one card as i had it saved on several cards
