    Read & loved Bloom County in the mid to late 80's at uni. Bought the books, was given a 30cm Opus "Yuppy" Plush that went to student parties with me (popular mascot of my paper), plagiarised Berke Breathed's work for my student newspaper…

    Don't know how the dated US political references will translate to audience here & now. His earlier work was not just political, it was damn funny. It examined events in politics and culture through the viewpoint of a fanciful small town in Middle America, where children often have adult personalities and vocabularies and where animals can talk. Wikipedia

    When Berke Breathed relaunched his work, I found it harder to relate to, with more emphasis on little known US events.
