[PC] Free - 6 Batman Games: Arkham Collection incl. Arkham Knight+DLC (3 games) and Lego Batman Trilogy (3 games) - Epic Store

5980

The next freebie from the Epic Store.

This week it is: a mystery game.

They have given no title, no name, just a picture showing bats and the silhouette of Batman.
Hence I think it is not too farfetched to speculate it will be a Batman game, possibly even Arkham Knight. If you zoom the picture there are also two tiles showing Lego Batman.
Feel free to put your guess in the comments/thread below.
Enjoy!

UPDATE:

As suspected they are giving away 6(!) free games!

Batman Arkham Collection: https://www.epicgames.com/store/en-US/bundles/batman-arkham-…

  • Arkham City
  • Arkham Asylum
  • Arkham Knight

Lego Batman Trilogy: https://www.epicgames.com/store/en-US/bundles/lego-batman-tr…

  • Lego Batman: The Videogame
  • Lego Batman 2: DC Super Heroes
  • Lego Batman 3: Beyond Gotham

UPDATE: It also now includes the Arkham Knight DLC! Thanks Epic!

    • Is it free only a week, or permanent?

      • +8

Permanent if you add it to your account with the free week.

        • Sorry if this is a stupid question, but if it shows up in my purchase history, does it mean that it's permanent?

  • +7

If this website is to be believed, the teaser image contains images from the following games:

    • Batman Arkham Asylum
    • Batman Arkham Knight
    • Batman Arkham City
    • Batman Lego 1-3

The website speculates it could be a collection, possibly all six games. If true, that would be in the top three gaming freebies of all time I think.

    https://ag.hyperxgaming.com/article/8502/next-weeks-epic-gam…

The alternative could be Arkham Knight (rated M) and a Lego Batman game.

    • +2

It has the same pic as the cover of this newly released collection https://www.amazon.com/Batman-80th-Anniversary-Collection-Bl…

      • More reason to think it is the collection then. 🙄

      • +2

It's still possibly just one Batman game, with multiple properties from Warner Bros using this image as a representation of 80 years of Batman. 80th anniversary is a time to sell a lot of Batman games. Giving one away is a nice primer.

        • If you look at the pictures, they are not the same. The one for movies looks the same but if you look at the images making up the Batman outline they are not made up of little images of the games while the one on the Epic store is.
Plus, remember that WB will get paid lots of money but not by you - Epic is paying them.

        • +2

Nope I was wildly wrong, it is all 6.
          Lysander was spot on.

    • +1

Wow, sounds like one to not miss!

  • +3

If that is true, it will be awesome. Best superhero games ever to come out in my opinion

    • +3

agree, love all 4 games, arkham city being the no1

  • Great giveaway but already have them in on steam

    • +4

Likewise… have them on steam… and yet to play any of them!

      • +1

All the sales , my pile of shame is insane

      • Must play. Brought me back to PC gaming

  • Gloves are truly off if this is true! Actually need Arkham Knight to complete my collection on Steam but bugger it if its free on Epic. Also LEGO is always awesome to have.

  • Let's start a poll… What's it going to be?

I think it would be Arkham Asylum.

  • 6 games at once would be extremely massive. but let's see.

they are desperately giving free games, something is fishy

    • +1

No mate. It is Batman Anniversary and there are movie collections and comic collections to celebrate the occasion.
Nothing fishy about that - Epic just wants to increase its userbase and help people build up a library on their launcher.

    • +2

Well they want people to use their launcher, they want a piece of the pie in terms of sales on their store. They hope by giving you games on the launcher, that you stick around to buy other games later on. It's not fishy really, they are paying for it on your behalf to give it away for a week. It's like Epic Game Store's exclusivity deals for games. They are paying for the privilege of it being only available on their launcher/store for PC. I don't like or agree with the practice since it's not a true open market, but there's nothing fishy about it really, Epic is paying for it to be on their store free for a week. Also there's Batman anniversary so, it fits the occasion.

      • it's not a true open market

        There is no such thing.

In order for the crazy free market theory to work the market has to choose it's own currency because state interference via a central bank always means the theory cannot work.

Not that free markets are even a thing, there's just people with things to sell who set about rigging the system for their own benefit.

  • thanks. Got them both (all)

  • +5

When epic's free games beat xbox live gold and playstation plus titles.

  • Can confirm that it is all 6 games. Thankyou Lysander.

  • Epic indeed!

  • +4

    Legendary.

When was the last time 15 year old oligopoly steam gave such games for free?

  • +2

Wow… Epic has outdone everyone else. Epic giveaway. Also excellent next week.

  • Redeemed Arkham trilogy and thankfully came back to upvote as i noticed there was the lego trilogy to which i missed. Awesome giveaway from Epic. Thanks OP.

  • Do they come with all the DLCs as well?

  • This is good. I've loved first two Arkham game but didn't play Arkham Knight due to reported bugs, but now with my new RTX 2060 I will use PhysX @ 1440p on ultrawide and give it a go.

I also got around to playing Mutant Zero Road to Eden which was free a while back, it's short but good, just play it on Normal not Hard.

    • +1

      Bugs are all sorted out.

      • I oddly never encountered a single major bug on PC in my 30+ hours of play at launch. Brilliant game.

  • +5

Some of my favourite PC games ever. Bought all 3 Arkham games on Steam on their release and played all for 30 hours+ each. The quality end to end is astounding. Own all the Lego games too. But for those that don’t already own them this is the giveaway deal of the decade, I reckon. Hello Epic Launcher.

Just a word to parents that the Arkham games have elements of horror and violence (both psychological and physical) and so are not suitable for children under 15 I would say.

    Enjoy.

    • Great advice. Good to see some people are indeed concerned with this kind of thing. Thank you.

    • +5

I've let my 6 year old play Arkham Asylum. #parentoftheyear

      • How did he/she sleep afterwards? Any nightmares? Monster issues?

        • Not any more than normal 6 year olds.

  • -6

    when does this end?

    • +6

It is all in the post - I wish people would take at least 10 seconds to look and read.

      27 September 2019 at 12:59am.

  • -2

I wish people would take at least 10 seconds to look and read.

This is why i have you Lysander <3

Thank god - im away this weekend. Cant download it til i get back.

    • +1

You do not need to download. Just login via browser and add to account.

      • -2

        Marry me

  • Bear in mind this isnt all the Arkham games. Arkham Origins is not included.

    • +1

Yeo. Arkham Origins (2013) isn't included. At least the first two are GOTY editions including all the DLC.

      • Batman™ Arkham Asylum – Game of the Year Edition (2009)
      • Batman™ Arkham City – Game of the Year Edition (2011)
      • Batman™ Arkham Knight (2015)
  • Top work, Lysander. Thank you!

  • +1

i was thinking of renewing my ps+ subscription got batman and darksiders 3 this month. glad i didn't and got 6 new games on epic. now i just need a new pc to run it

  • +5

    this is EPIC!

  • Sharing is caring :)

  • best deal of the year + so far on epic store

    • +1

I wouldn't call it deal of the year.
More like freebie of the year.

      • to me this one of the best deal of the year (free or not etc)

if you look elsewhere on other stores 3 of these games would cost a lot
        and on the checkout summary
it said I save $59 USD

  • Good games have on Steam

  • Arkham Knight was one of the most underrated games I've ever played and I would list it as one of my favourite games of all time.

That said, I played on PS4. 2 years after it's release I got the PC version. Played about 1 hour and ran into at least 10 bugs. I started to understand the hate.

    • +1

is the ps4 version bug free?

is the pc version fixed the bugs now
and what was the main bugs?

      • The PS4 version is almost entirely bug free. I played through it 100% and I can't remember encountering a single bug. PC version was broken on release. I last played it may months back and noticed many bugs but they weren't game breaking. Probably more bugs fixed by now.

    • It was widely considered GOTY by many. It sold millions of copies. It currently sits at 87 on Metacritic. It won a frickin BAFTA. It also won multiple awards at The Game Awards.

It is not in any way underrated.

      • This is the PC version. On metacritic it's 70% on professional reviews, 31% on user reviews

        • Because the PC port was utter dogshit and some devs are still to this day putting out dogshit PC ports

        • "Arkham Knight was one of the most underrated games I've ever played"

"That said, I played on PS4."

  • already own the arkham games physical and digital on PS4 and dont really play PC much, but meaning to do a proper play through and get my moneys worth, but free is the magic price!

  • Wow thanks OP!

  • Will it matter if I play arkham knight first? I have all the arkham games now and don't know whether I should bother playing the first three or just go straight to the newer one.

    • The first three are pretty good. Play them first - you will like them.

  • +1

I enjoyed all of the non-Lego Batman games on PS3 and PS4, but I remember hearing that the PC versions were a bit of an abortion. Did they ever get patched into a decent state?

    • +4

      Did you mean.. abomination..?

From my understand, yes, the PC version is now fine to play!

  • Thanks Lysander!

Probably the best (IMO) freebies from EPIC so far. I don't know if there's the play as Catwoman addon in this but it was good on Playstation.

  • Started d/l Arkham KNight yesterday and got to 20% (of 50gb). Resumed today and it went back to 0% and the size is now 65.4Gb! WTF. Not happy Jan!

    • Thank you NBN

    • Mine is installing and its on 107gb of 122GB. Does that seem right to anyone else? Its been going for a full 24 hours ffs

      • No idea mate. Mine ended up finishing. I can check the final size when I get back home.

  • I assume the DLC is an update?

    • Not sure. I guess if you install it you have access to the DLC.
Have you downloaded and installed yet?
