  • How does one maintain freshness on 2 dozen donuts

    • +4

Eats them in the first day

Though I have heard they freeze well apparently

          What madman freezes donuts

          • @[Deactivated]: Before Krispy Kreme arrived in Victoria, I used to go to the Filipino store and buy them frozen. Was alright frozen

Thats the one and only time im going to eat 24 krispy creme donuts in one day.

Dont try it folks. You will feel very ill afterwards when the sugar crash hits.

        • For diabetics, very ill = dead.

    • +3

All is in the post… Online only, though you can do C&C if you want. Ends on the 20th @ 3pm AEST

      • Cheers.

  • Lasttime when I picked up my online order, the person said online order is not fresh from the store. Is this true?

    • +5

The only fresh stores will be mascot and liverpool anyways.

      • Yes, I picked up from Liverpool store and the guy said online order is delivered to the store from other place therefore it's not fresh.

        • My last few orders were fine from my local in Perth.

        • +1

Not fresh in terms of click and collect time. A few months ago, I did an online order for click and collect for 1pm next day. Went to Liverpool store at that specified time and I got day old donuts (the glaze wasn't solid and was soggy). I assumed that they would make new fresh batch according to the time you come to pick it up but I think they make it straight away when you pay for it.

But they do make their donuts in-store.

          • +1

@sadge: Only fresh when the sign is up, only time worth buying donuts. Eat them fresh and it’s the best. That said if you buy them and box them immediately the glaze gets a bit weird. They need to be cooled down slightly after freshly made before closing the box to be good.

        What about the Auburn store?

      • Since when did they stop making fresh ones at Auburn?

        • Haven’t for the last 10 years.

    • +1

Yes that's true because they put them into the box every morning.
I've received original glazed that looked like it was melted when I picked them up on 2 occasions.
First time they threw out the dozen and swapped for me.
Second time they insisted that online meant I couldn't get fresh ones.
Their excuse was something along the line of "what is the point of ordering online if they had to give me fresh ones off the machine while it is fresh and hot."
After that I no longer order online to save arguing there.
This is for the Liverpool NSW store BTW.

  • How come the original deal said dozen starting from 17.95? Why does it cost more to buy online than in store?

    • Hashtag VillageCinemas

  • Do we have to choose what you want in online assorted order or we can do it at time of pick up.? ( Sorry site is seriously dead and can't figure out there).

  • +3

Buy 1 dozen get 1 dozen free (original glazed only) is available for those with the Entertainment card/book.

This deal is still good for the assorted ones though yay!

Honestly, I think KK is overrated.

    This is best: https://youtu.be/90E2wWi44Q8

  • NO ACT stores i hate it

    • I know it sucks. And they won't even deliver from Sydney :(

    • Got too cocky when they came here and opened up too many outlets. They need to come back with even just 1 store and theyd do alright

  • Geezus, probably more sugar in just one of these than I would have in a week.!

  • That's still alot of money for 2 dozen donuts. I actually enjoy plain cinnamon more than any KK stuff. Can get two dozen of them for $6 or so at your supermarket

    • +4

Krispy Kreme > Donut King > Homemade > Colesworth

If you've ever had fresh cinnamon donuts straight out of the fryer at DK (as they make them fresh), you won't go back to Colesworth

      • Personally I would put KK at the bum end of that list. The others I can agree on. But when I say that I'm talking of the flavours on offer.. Not necessary the dough itself. Something about KK flavours fails to excite me

        • +2

I normally just stick to Original Glazed. The others I can give or take

      • Sucks to be you that think KK is at the top of your donut list. It's like the McD of donuts.

Got a place here in Melb called Daniels Donuts and they are way better than KK in every aspect. Even some of the donuts in the inner city markets (Parhan, South Melbourne) are better than KK.

Edit: You're from Perth, no wonder =P

        • Eh, was talking more mainstream, can't say I've tried every possible place that sells donuts ;)

          • @spackbace: If you say mainstream then yes. But that's like saying Hungry Jacks is better than McD…would always go to a proper burger place than those "mainstream".

I guess $20.11 for 2 dozen is pretty good. I would buy some only if I get to those Factory Shop that actually make then original glazed fresh.

  • I am the only one here who's not into donuts? Even my kids won't touch them. They prefer cheesecakes and ice-creams.

    Upvoted for everyone else's.

  • how do I actually pick up the order in store? I've placed the order online, and paid for it already, but I'm not too sure how I would actually pick them up

    • Did you order C&C or delivery?

      • I ordered by C&C :)

        • You should get an email with header:

          Thank you blah…
          Your order….

          Your order detail…
You can pick up your donut on xx sept 2019 TIME

          SOmewhere on bottom right
Shipping method: pick up @ store location.
