Great camera, can recommend. The one thing I would mention to potential buyers is maybe handle one in store before buying, especially if you have larger hands it can be hard to get a good grip on it.

    • Cheers mate, legit just stopped me from pulling the trigger. Heading to Ted's at lunch.

  • Product pic shows the EZ 14-42 but description is R. EZ is better

    • Optically they are identical, EZ is smaller but IIR is the one I would have (And I sell cameras for a living)

  • Nice kit…it is the Mk II mind you. Cracker of a camera for anybody wanting to push into more serious photography. 45mm lens is a nice inclusion - capable of some decent portrait photography.

Agree with Stefce on size. I picked up an E-M5 for my father, and he found it a little odd after using a curvy type bridge camera for a number of years. I like it myself…feels a lot like old SLR cameras like my Pentax MX, but slightly easier to hold. Of course, you can buy grips for these if you want to.

If you're not shy about checking out secondhand stuff, I'd be inclined to have a look for a lightly used E-M5 II or E-M1 also. Weather sealing on those. All great cameras though, and it is nice to get something new and shiny.

  • Differences between ii and iii here, if that helps you decide:
    https://mirrorlesscomparison.com/preview/olympus-omd-em10-ii…

  • All those lenses are pretty average, and also it’s basically the deal Olympus had in July. The body, and 2 zooms are a normal twin lens kit, ($799) and in July they were giving everyone a free 45 1.8

    • 45mm f1.8 an average lens?

It's considered by most photographers in the micro four thirds community to be one of the best non pro lenses for the system.

  • For anyone wanting the most basic kit and buy their preferred lens separately, this is not a bad deal (not enough quantity to post separately), camera and 14-42mm lens, after discount code POLLEN20 is only $479.20:
