  • not bad its $116 @ DSE

Been at this price for ages because it's USB 2.0.

    • Copying a bit over 100GB of files from a visiting friend's USB 2.0 portable drive to one of my USB 2.0 portable drives involved a frustrating hour and a half wait (roughly 20MB/s real world speed). I'm not buying any more USB 2.0 external HDs and I hope my mates don't either :D

      agree.

    • most average people only have usb2.0 and being usb powered is a plus. they were released a year ago and were around $270. everyone sees it as different. i see it as a bargain, as i only have usb2.0 and dont plan on upgrading anytime soon. im happy to wait a few hours to copy data over, and realisticly how many times are u gunna copy 100gb or so at a time.

      • if you plan on using this drive as an external hard drive only then it's a great deal. If not, and you plan on ripping the hard drive out and installing it on your notebook, I'm afraid to tell you that the connectors have been soldered and thus making it useless.

As far as I know, Seagate, Imoega and Medion are the only drives that doesn't have the proprietary board soldered onto the hard drive.

  • Pretty good deal, you can also get a Seagate Expansion 1tb for $99 delivered - https://shop.1wow.com.au/productcart/pc/SEAGATE-1TB-EXPANSIO…

    • Seagate Expansion 1tb for $99 at OW as well

Not a bargain. Been this price for 6+ months.

    • I dont think so. This is 2.5"

  • Need to include USB 2.0 in title

  • Just bought Seagate Expansion 1tb for $99 delivered for $99 from OW yesterday….

paid $98 for WD USB 3 passport version last week.
the element was $98 there as well (a bin full of them) since more than 1 week ago.

price is ok, and only a slight bargain.

  • PS3 internal suitability, anyone?

    • drive height is 12.5mm, need 9.5mm for ps3. currently the 750 gb model of this drive is the largest that fits into the ps3

      • Cool…thanks for that…I guess I am being wishful in thinking that the capacity drive that I want should fit.
