When you think of German sport shoe manufacturers starting with A, the first name that pops into your head is… Aldi

TLDR; Aldi has picked up some cheap Ultraboost replicas because of the trade war and you my friend are the winner!

    • If those are comparable to Ultraboosts, $50 is a bargain. The hypebeasts will turn their nose at Puma, but maybe that's a good thing.

      • The sole itself should be identical technology. Just comes down to style over substance

    • I had these https://runrepeat.com/puma-nrgy a few years ago and hated them. Bought them because they were cheap. Found the sole terrible, weak and unsupportive. Haven't bought puma's since, I know they wont all the that bad.

      • You've pretty much described exactly what any casual shoe that has this kind of look to it is like (imo). They're definitely not built for support, they're light, cushy and flexible. I own a pair of the pumas you linked and they're no different to my NMDs or pure boosts. If anything, they're actually 'more' structurally sound then the Adidas variants.

IMO these style of shoes are best suited for a casual outfit rather than for any form of strenuous exercise. The knit material around the heel would offer zero support and your feet would be sliding inside the shoe.

  • OP should work in marketing

  • very good shoes for the price, the rubber easily comes off at the top of the shoes though…

They got this same styling at Payless shoes for the same price if you’re not able to get this deal. Don’t expect them to be your new gym shoes but just for casual use they’ll be fine. Sorry I meant spendless shoes https://www.spendless.com.au/react-black-63.html

They certainly don't look the same..

  • Not sure if anyone remembers or knows but there may have been a target version of this shoe for about the same price?

      • Oh not quite the ones i saw last time but decent find. I saw ones that had a yeezy kind of look to it. Prob gone already.

    • I bought some Target mesh ones in the sale last summer as I thought they might help keep my feet cooler while chasing the kids around in the summer, but they turned out to be the hottest shoes I've ever worn - must be a really pooor fabric. I can't even walk in these to the car without my feet getting uncomfortably sweaty, even wearing socks.

  • I wouldn’t be seen dead in these shoes

  • Threw 3 old pairs just for this pair. Bought one from Aldi this morning. The brand is Crane. They have not disappointed me yet as the feeling is really good :D

  • Small and narrow. Shoe would be much better with out the plastic cage.

    • It's also nowhere near as squishy as boost material..

Just has the fake appearance of it.

  • Has anyone purchased any boost style sneakers from AliExpress or similar and been happy with them?

Just tried on a pair. I'm a size 8 Adidas boost but the AldiBoost felt about 1.5 sizes too big.
Foam isn't as squishy and the plastic cage feels sharp even through the shoe.
    Hard pass from me.

    • It was bigger for me too! I think if ppl want to buy, go half - 1 size smaller. And yea.. doesnt have the boost foam feel to me. Not sure what materials they used for the midsole.

      • That's strange… I tried on the 11 and it was too small for me, and I'm usually 10 or 11… (And 11 is their biggest). Clearly their sizing of these shoes is off!

        • They are about half price now - so I tried on a pair of 9s (I'm usually an 8). Seemed about the right size for a 9 to me. UK sizing that is, which might explain why some people think they are larger if they are comparing to a US size.
