Background:
Myer Sydney CBD, and possibly other Myer stores, have HEAPS of these in stock. m'Lady (who is NOT the best price haggler) simply found a salesperson, said she could buy one cheaper online, and asked them to come up with a reasonable deal.

"Almost without blinking" (m'Lady's words) the salesperson offered them to her for $82.05. I have no idea why she bothered with extended warranty on cheap-ish headphones, but the salesperson also cut the add-on 2yr warranty (total 3yrs of coverage) by 50% to $17.95.

IMHO, this is a pretty stellar deal for a bricks'n'mortar retailer in Sydney CBD.

Note:
Clearly, these are NOT audiophile-grade cans. But, having listened to them, I'm prepared to say they'd be the best value over-ear N/C headphones on the market (more than half the price of my Audio-Technica ATH-ANC7b cans).

  • Damn I jumped on the dicksmith deal couple days ago. Wonder if I can return it in store even if I bought it online

Useless noise canceling that doesn't even work.

You're entitled to that opinion, of course, however wrong it may be.

How long have you owned a pair of SHN5600s?

Here's an alternative, reviews suggest they are pretty good though there have been some complaints about the headband quality.

$99.95 delivered for Aurvana X-Fi NC headphones. I used them on a flight recently and they did a nice job of blocking out the droning.

    • Thats really cheap!

  • Can anyone comment on how comfortable these are to wear?

    • Obviously a subjective thing, but I found them to be VERY lightweight and cool (good airflow) on the ear.
