  • Australian Warranty?

  • +1

Not a Sandisk Australia seller. Therefore, no Australia warranty.

  • -1

They should specify it's a grey import.

  • Hi, we do provide 12month Australia Warranty.

    • But it's not Sandisk's "limited lifetime warranty".

  • Be wary of grey import memory cards from Hong Kong or China. A lot of them are fake!

    • thats what i thought ! i bought sandisk memory cards from eaby at half the retail and turns out to be fake. looks the same. but the damn thing is slow plus takes ages to load even hangs the computer. rubbish

  • +1

Just because they're not a Sandisk authorized reseller doesn't mean they don't get it from an australian distributor, and personally it doesn't bother me if it's not from Australia as long as its genuine and theres a return to base warranty.

    • All cards are 100% genuine. We offer 7 days money back guarantee.

      • -6

But it's not Sandisk's "limited lifetime warranty".

  • We do not sell fake cards, all cards are 100% genuine Sandisk cards. We offer 7 days money back guarantee. All cards are shipped from Melbourne.

But it's not Sandisk's "limited lifetime warranty".

mrdigitalcameras - For the reassurance of lot's of OzBargainers (and me) would you care to run h2tesw on one of these units and post a screenshot of the results? If you need any assistance please comment back

    http://sosfakeflash.wordpress.com/2008/09/02/h2testw-14-gold…

    • ^^^ Yes please do this.

  • +5

Ozbarganers I understand that you are the suspicious bunch, but there is no need to spread rumors that we sell fake cards. WE DO NOT SELL FAKE CARDS. All cards are 100% genuine Sandisk. If you buy the card and test it and think that its fake, return it and we will issue you with a refund.

      The other question is:

      IS IT A GREY IMPORT?

      • -1

Shaun, you are very HIGH on this!

    • +1

Yes I understand that, and I'm 95% sure that they wouldn't be fakes.. but for the reassurance of OzBargainers all I'm asking is you open one unit and test it out using H2testw, I could guarantee you you would get your money back from the one unit you opened once proved they hold their capacity and their 30MB/s read/write speeds

      • +2

Are you certain its 95% sure and not 94.567% sure? ;)

        • :P

        • +1

95% is the usual confidence level required in social science related testing~

  • +5

Please confirm/deny whether this is a grey import and whether Sandisk themselves will honour the warranty. Yes, we know you are providing a one year warranty already, please don't simply repeat that to dodge the issue.

Even if this is a grey import, it looks like good value. Deal Extreme has the same SDHC card for ~$53 delivered. Mobile Citi, as linked above at $55 delivered, is probably a grey importer too (not listed on the Sandisk site, although they do advertise the lifetime warranty in their specs).

EDIT Could you also let us know how many "Limited quantity" is?

    • +3

I agree. I doubt many OzBargainers are going to care if it's an import, as long as it gets the stated read write speeds and that the rep is honest about where this card originated from.

      • +1

But the rep has being dodging questions on whether this is a grey import, he merely stated it is shipped from Melbourne.

      • +2

Sockpuppet? Only post mrdigitalcamera's deals, just joined up. Smells fishy to me.

      • How can we be sure you'll be around for 12 months if something goes wrong?

      • LOL he just edited his whole post.

  • +1

Lets hope he is testing them now with h2testw so we can confirm that these are legitimate cards.

    • +12

As requested: http://www.mrdigitalcameras.com.au/sandisk16gb.jpg. The card's speed is limited by the reader: http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/sdhc-memory-card,2143-10…. The cards that we have in stock are imported stock, but are no different to cards sold locally. Class 10 is Class 10 anywhere in the world. If something is going to go wrong with it, it will most likely happen in the first 12months and we cover you for the 1st 12months. We have 100pcs in stock.

      • The rep finally owes up (Y)
        That's more like it.

        • +9

Shaun - the rep isn't promising the card will last more than 12 months, he's clarified all points re: grey import/speeds, so what's the major issue?

We're pretty sure they're not fake given everything we know, and the rep has clearly said he will give a refund even if you think it's fake.

The only downside to other retailers (i.e. MobileCiti) is that they don't offer the "Limited Lifetime Warranty". With MobileCiti offering it for $54.99, it's a good $13 more expensive which may be enough for some people to take a risk. Every SD card I've ever owned (from the 16MB Canon SD cards onwards) still work, and I still use them (including the 16MB Canon SD card).

In fact the only dodgy thing I see about this thread is the socketpuppet attempt.

  • +2

Good work mate, I'm sure you'll get more purchases now!

  • +5

Why are some people so retarded? Who cares if it's a grey import. You're getting it for a much lower price and sacrificing the 'lifetime warranty' which is a call YOU as the purchaser makes. These memory cards become obsolete so fast anyway that lifetime warranties are near worthless beyond the first 12 months and absolutely worthless after 24 months.

    • +1

Yeah, i've never had a genuine card go wrong on me EVER.
Don't know what the big deal is. To be honest, i've got so many cards i wouldn't know who i got it from to claim the warranty LOL

      • -1

I've had a genuine SanDisk card fail on me, AFTER 12 MONTHS. LOL

Why'd my neg vote get revoked, but the other 2 didn't when they were for the same reason?

    • Yes I agree in 2-3 yrs the card may not worth a lot so not worth all the hassle to get the card replaced under warranty. I had some problems with some old SANDISK usb drives but were still under some warranty, but never bothered to return….(no problem so far with more than 6-8 Sandisk SD cards)

  • Your website seems busted. Have tried to purchase a card using credit card for payment and got the following error - Fatal error: Undefined class constant 'XML_PATH_ALLOW_GUEST_SUBSCRIBE_FLAG' in /opt/lsws/www/magento/app/code/local/MW/Onestepcheckout/controllers/IndexController.php on line 1439

    • Hi there, we had many order coming through without any issues, so I am not sure what the problem is. I have tried it myself 2min ago and can not replicate the error. What browser are you using? What method of payment did you select ? When did the error occur when you clicked "Place order" ? Please email it to us at [email protected].

  • Why are people are so concerned about it being a grey import?..

Its the cheapest way to buy products & its LEGAL. Most people dont even realize that most iphones sold around the world are actually grey imports & apple still honour the warranty.

The card will be as cheap as chips aftr 12Months, so there's not to much to be concerned about other then getting the specs provided.

    I just purchased 1. Thanks :)
