My partner and I have a QFF account each, with about 150,000 points each, and looking to book an international flight using them.
Obviously, we want to book the same flight with adjacent seats.
What is the best way to do it?
Should I transfer her points to my account, and book 2 people through my account? Or we book at the same time on different accounts and choose seats next to each other
One international flight or return flights? If return, you could use one persons account to book you both one way, then the other persons account to book the return journey for you both.
I'd vote for booking departing and returning flight separately under each account if you don't want to fluff around with transferring (which can sometimes be a headache in and of itself).
Another choice is to just book flights individually and pick adjacent seats in seat selection.
Transferring points is probably one of the easiest processes
I know people who've had their points temporarily suspended for transferring. Had to contact Qantas and go through some rigmarole to figure it all out.
If you book flights separately, call airline and ask them to seat you together and they’ll link the reservations. Also helps because they will then know you are flying together.
Free and legit to transfer your points to/from your partner, do that to combine all points in one account, then book it all as one ticket.
Yes I recommend booking together as one ticket to make life easier. It also means one set of cancellation or change fees instead of two, in case you need to do that.
Does one of you have higher status than the other? If so, transfer points to that person and book through that person's account might mean more reward tickets are available.
