Got a coupon from abebooks for 10% off to a maximum of $15 off (i.e. $150 worth of books)
Checking Booko for prices, I usually get abebooks as the lowest and getting this coupon really helps. Most uni textbooks (I don't get the latest, but the edition before it for around $10(IT))

Have fun and enjoy the book I suggested

Of course check Booko for best prices before buying unless you want a previous edition

  • Ah this would've come in handy last night when I ordered a book -.-

Gotta really recommend Abebooks; most of their books are dirt cheap! I got a used text book which retails for $100+ for $20 shipped and came literally as brand new!

  • +1

Excellent. semester 2 about to start and they have very good prices with the international editions.

    • STATISTICS WITHOUT MATHS FOR PSYCHOLOGY - Uni book shop price - $116.
      Abebooks $56.78 - 10% = $51.10
      Bookdepository.com $51.64 - 10% summer book sale = $46.47

      • how does this compare, I rarely look at the booko prices for abebook. I first search it on abebook and then on booko since I prefer the older editions :)

        • how does this compare,

for this book bookdespoitory is 10% cheaper

This is $40, and is the latest edition I'm guessing. I have no idea about the book quality which might be second hand since it says condition as very good and not new

        • your link is to the 2005 edition. the edition I refer to is 2011. I should have put the ISDN in.

this book refers to SPSS which is now into version 19 so requires a more up to date version of this reference book.

this is my final subject for this degree so whilst ordinarily I would go for an older version to save $$, I'm not risking it this semester as I need to do well.

I guess my point is that it saves to shop around.

  • Anyone know when this code expires??
    Guessing end of July?

    • looking more closely at the post would suggest 01/08/2011 (21 days left)

  • I wanted to buy some books yesterday but it seems their descriptions mentioned "internation edition ISBN number is different" . But identical to the US edition. Was a bit nervous buying from them for that reason. Ended up buying from Amazon.

Also noticed recently Fishpond seems to be having some good prices as well on some of the books i was looking for but their delivery is really slow. 2 days delay with mine so far.

  • US$ 35.00 for shipping to Australia?

That's quite expensive (especially because I am looking at a $12 book!)

    • list by total pice (shipping + item)

also google for free shipping codes.

    • US$ 35.00 for shipping to Australia?

Shipping varies depending on the seller you're buying from. Abebooks don't ship the books themselves; they're simply a marketplace for thousands of independent bookstores.

Goes without saying, use booko.com.au first whenever you are looking for book prices.

In addition to this I have recently discovered amazon UK free shipping. If you are spending more than 25 pounds (or equivalent), amazon UK is usually cheaper than book depository and abebooks!

    • thanks muzza for that link

Awesome! I was literally just about to order something from abebooks, and i thought "hmm might look around for a coupon", and then that thought reminded me of this site so I thought I'd browse here too, and first one on the site: abebooks!

Ordered a textbook for this upcoming semester. I couldn't really find it anywhere for less than $100, then I found it on abebooks for $42.80 plus $9.50 shipping, then this coupon saved me $4.28… awesome!

  • Anyone found free shipping coupon?

  • Cheers for that. Just bought about $600 worth of books for $280 :D

Nice, thanks mate. Although did anybody else get a link to 'How to Good-Bye Depression: If You Constrict Anus 100 Times Everyday' when they click on the abebooks link?? Lol

"I think constricting anus 100 times and denting navel 100 times in succession everyday is effective to good-bye depression and take back youth. You can do so at a boring meeting or in a subway. I have known 70-year-old man who has practiced it for 20 years. As a result, he has good complexion and has grown 20 years younger. His eyes sparkle. He is full of vigor, happiness and joy. He has neither complained nor born a grudge under any circumstance. Furthermore, he can make #### three times in succession without drawing out.In addition, he also can have burned a strong beautiful fire within his abdomen. It can burn out the dirty stickiness of his body, release his immaterial fiber or third attention which has been confined to his stickiness. Then, he can shoot out his immaterial fiber or third attention to an object, concentrate on it and attain happy lucky feeling through the success of concentration. If you don't know concentration which gives you peculiar pleasure, your life looks like a hell"

      WTF???
