Bike Repair Work Stand $56.99 Delivered @ Letour Cycles eBay

110

I've been looking out for a bike work stand for a while. This one doesn't look great, to be honest, but it is dramatically cheaper than other options and is apparently down from an RRP of about $110.

If you haven't used a work stand before - they make maintenance much easier, as you can turn the wheels and get around the bike without it feeling over or needing someone else to hold it up. If you can get to do some repairs at home instead of paying someone else, this work stand will pay for itself.

had a similar one, the screw down clamp was annoying and slow, got an identicle looking one with a quick release clam from Rebel Sport for not much more. Very happy with it. https://www.rebelsport.com.au/p/nitro-foldable-bike-workstan…

I got same one from Amazon for $43 but checked now $63 on Amazon, good for the price. I put a bolt thru the clamp section where it fixes to the horizontal bar as the bike weight makes the clamp slide off. https://www.amazon.com.au/dp/B07GJCGQY4/ref=pe_2361882_28238…

ALDI often sells an identical stand, look out for the bicycle sales a few times each year and its only $40.

The Aldi one is good, I have one.

  • These stands are super heavy and a pain to unpack
I would get an alloy stand

      …heaviness provides stability!

      • If you need stability get a wall, table or floor mounted stand
These are meant to be portable and easy to pack/unpack which they aren't

  • Would you recommend this stand for carbon frames?

    • Sorry, no idea!

  • I bought the Aldi version of this stand and was very disappointed by the rotational clamp's inability to hold my bike in the set rotated position - the weight of the bike (light 12kg XC MTB) would eventually turn the bike, no matter how tightly I tried (at fear of cracking the plastic). I have since replaced it with a much higher quality stand with a different mechanism.

Since one of the main purposes of the stand is the hold the bike in a position that is convenient to work on the relevant parts, I would advise you to skip this one (unless perhaps you are working on a light road bike) and buy something with a better locking mechanism (eg using ratchet teeth, etc).

What was the replacement that you bought?

  • Whats wrong with flipping the bike upside down and putting it on the floor to work on lol

    • As long as you are careful about it e.g. rags under the seat and handlebars to protect from scratches, there isn't too much wrong with turning the bicycle upside down. In fact, it makes it easier to clean the under-carriage and other difficult to reach areas, and may also help drain any water if you have been riding in wet conditions (of course wipe down the bike first before flipping it upside down to drain).

Having the bike right side up does make it easier to change gears and use the brakes, and work on components and the chain. Everything also 'makes more sense' when the bike is right side up during maintenance.

  • These are a dime a dozen 2nd hand…

  • $54.14 with code PLEASE5

    • EDIT- $41.99 on their website + POSTAGE (for me, this ends up at $51.94)
