As per Scotty's post, I'm looking to organise an Ozbargain birthday meetup for lunch time in Chatswood for the Sydney North Shore on Wednesday November 27. It's at the same place as in 2017 and 2018 because it's on top of the train station making it accessible to anyone working in the CBD as well, there is some Ozbargainer interest in ramen, and most importantly, at this time early/mid week we'll have a good chance of securing a number of tables.

Please provide an indication of your interest in the place, date and time in the poll, and comment on suggestions for alternatives, and whether you're able to organise.

        Yea, I'm in Japan enough that I rarely seek out any specific ramen. Any neighbourhood store can be great and I kinda avoid touristy stuff.
        But, that sesame/miso soup looks very interesting. Narita airport has a similar looking one (T's Tantan) which is one of the best ramens I've had, even though it's vegan.
        Def gonna seek it out

          I tried Ippudo in Japan & wasn't a big fan. Ichiran ramen was one of the places I went to that tasted better to me.

          The random local shops were also decent, maybe I just got unlucky with the Ippudo I went to in Tokyo.

            @fishball: Fully agree Ichiran Ramen is one of the best however I don't like their fast serve sitting arrangements

        Ippudo is actually not that good…their noodles are inferior and service is average. Waiter service not attentive. And they all give this don't care look. The Westfield CBD store was a disappointing experience. Also their ramen soup has way too much msg makes you thirsty and disrupt my sleep. Next morning I cough like a mofo. Went to Chatswood one also similar experience.

        Even Hakata-Maru down the chatswood station is better than this Ippudo.. I shall call it ippu don't

          Would love to explore these, but we wouldn't have gotten the turnout at lunch time if it wasn't convenient to access for many of the Ozbargsiners that turned up.

      We might as well use it to reserve places, but if people find out they can't attend at the last minute, then as a courtesy to others, remove their votes, but I didn't check the "Allow Changing Votes" and can't edit it. I can't seem to change the poll wording from "I can attend" to "I will attend". Can you please help.

    Hi All,

    Confirming the North Shore meetup is on. Like last year, tables can't be reserved, but the restaurant confirmed again today that if we get there early then we should be able to gather around the central large table. I will be there at opening time of 11.30 to facilitate this. Late comers can grab a seat elsewhere in the restaurant. See you all from 12pm Wednesday 27.

        Earning the Brazen Freeloader badge? Asking to organise a meetup as a 1hr member on the Lee's Malaysian thread. Even bringing a +1 girlfriend who we don't know is a member or not. There should be a criteria that I have seen before on the classifieds, member for X period of time or X non affiliated deals posted.

    Thanks for coming everyone. We had a great turnout in the low 20s, but it was small enough to allow deeper conversations.

    Also, thanks to Scotty for growing Ozbargain into a thriving community and for sponsoring the meet up.

    I'll upload some photos later tonight or tomorrow when we get power back.

        I second that. And thanks for funding it Scotty. Looking to next year I think we have outgrown Ippudo's trusty centre table so the Chatswood meetup may need a new home.
