Tyroola.com.au? Has Anyone Used Them with The Mates Rates Deal?

Hello all. I'm looking for new tyres and stumbled across Tyroola.com.au. They have a deal where you get a mate to buy tyres within 30 days and you get a 10% rebate. Get two mates to buy and you get 25%. 3 and its 50%. They don't get the discount, only you do. But they can also do the same thing to get their own rebate. It sort of looks like a pyramid scheme for tyres. See here https://www.tyroola.com.au/matesrates/

I'm just wondering if anyone has actually used this? Some half price Pirelli's would be nice.

Ta,

Boomer

The problem is always going to be lining up 2 or 3 mates who all need tyres at the same time as you do. Because of this I find it's mostly a marketing gimmick as reality dictates most people rarely need tyres at the same time as their friends/family.

When comparing their prices and including the fitting at a local place, I found Jax Tyres to be just as competitive if not better on some tyres. The only real saving from Tyroola is with the mates deal but as above its always gonna be very difficult to arrange it with other people.

    • Hit and miss, I got a set of tyres at an extremely good price on Tyroola that nobody either had stock on or was way more expensive considering they are a completely brand new model of tyre.

But ultimately you have to be very sure of what you are buying because the return process can get ugly as the installer isn't the one making money off the tyre nor do they care.

I bought 4 tyres in August from Tyroola via the SCA portal (for cashback).

I agree with Skramit and what made the deal for me was free delivery in Sydney for the tyres I bought.

If you want my link PM me but generally I thought the rebate thing a bit useless.

edit: The process was good and hassle free. The fitting shop was excellant.

2nd edit: Pirellis are a bit crap in the long run. look at Michelin PS4, Goodyear F1 Assymetric, etc.

Search "Autobild 2019 summer tyre test"

    • How long does the mates code last for so you get a rebate?

      • Looks like 30 days, so if the purchase was made in August, looks like it would have expired by now. I'm also looking at getting a set of tyres from Tyroola at the moment. So hey if there's someone who wants some cash back let us know.

        • Sounds like a good candidate for OzB classified. Split the rebate perhaps…… :P

        • PM me, I bought off Tyroola 2 weeks ago.

      • The way I read it, it was 30 days from when you sent the code but I was skimming, so probably wrong.

I only spent $300 so it's not a big deal if someone bought something decent (expensive) and can give you a code.

FYI, I bought the following for my daughter(s) car. I went cheap for various reasons. Both say the tyres are good but they are on their Ps and bop around the suburbs.

Greenlander Colo H01 205/55r16 $296 inc delivery, fitting, balancing & GST Wheel alignment was $80

  • It looks like a pyramid scheme for tyres

This is exactly what I thought when I saw it while looking for tyres, so closed the tab and bought elsewhere.

By all means get the best (immediate) deal, but don't try and commoditise your friendships.

I'm looking at getting tyres next Thursday so if anyone has a code to throw my way, more than happy to help you get a rebate. Better than me getting tyres and NOT helping someone else out!

Hi mate! I'm planning on buying a set tomorrow morning. I can throw you my link if you're happy to use it :)

Hi, I am going to buy a set next week. Can we help each other with the link?

  • Should start a referral for Tyroola in the OzBargain referral system.

    • It’s in there but it needs to delete referrals after 30 days which I doubt it does. Probably cluttered with non-working codes.

  • Two things to note

1: the person using the code has to buy 4 tyres
2: if I am reading their terms and conditions correctly the offer ended 31st July 2019. Maybe it's been extended?

    • thanks for the reminder. good pick up. But looks like people still got the link recently. their price is not bad still. I will give it a go anyway next week. Let's see…

      • Looks like the offer is still working. I just finished the order.

  • is the programme still active?
only saw 3 users in the ref box
