Quadruple Quarter Pounder + Large Drink + Small Fries, $11.32 - $11.55 (Stacking Offers) @ McDonald's

981

Requires the 25% off orders over $15 mobile app reward otherwise same deal will cost $15.10 - $15.40. Price difference for me is between my two closest Maccas stores. One charges 95 cents to upgrade small drink to large while other charges $1.25. Every store may be different so price is a near estimate.

I only really like Quarter Pounders from the Maccas menu and came up with this as a way of getting best bang for buck when using the 25% minimum spend $15 reward offer. I only do this when they give me the 25% off voucher as I never use to use it as I thought that reward voucher was lame.

Start with a small McFeast meal for $5
Customise the burger as follows;
1, remove McChicken Sauce
2, add five slices of cheese
3, remove sliced tomato
4, add 2 serves of pickles
5, remove shredded lettuce
6, select four Qtr lb Beef patty
7. hit save
Note: Obviously customise your burger how you want, I did it this way as is a true quad Quarter Pounder. A Quarter Pounder always has one more slice of cheese than the amount of beef pattys so that's why I chose 4 beef slices and 5 cheese. Doing it this way makes your order as close to $15 while being slightly over for the voucher to apply.

Select your drink and choose to upgrade small soft drink to large for between $0.95 - $1.25 depending on store location.

Tap on rewards and apply 25% off discount if you have it and add to mobile order.

For me burger came in a box with a Monopoly sticker so you will get three monopoly sticker thingys as well.

that would actually be 16 beef patties and 17 slices of cheese. Maccas won't let me order it, you have to order 4 of these to make it yourself. :)

    Quadruple Quarter Pounder

    Isn't it just a Pounder?

    • +8

yes but Maccas call the double Quarter Pounder a Double Quarter Pounder so I was sticking to their own naming convention

      • +2

But if you are adding 4 patties, doesn't that make 5 total? A quintuple Quarter Pounder if you will.

By the way, for those who have this deal you can get 3 small McFeast meals for the same price.

Edit: just read more closely, you are only ADDING 3 extra patties.

        • +1

That's not the way the maccas app works. if you say add 4 patties you get four patties and get charged for three.

          • +1

@Moon Pie: But the burger has 1 patty to begin with, so while you are selecting 4 patties, you're only adding 3.

            • +1

@[Deactivated]: I've added screen shots and photos of the burger and order receipt if you need to clarify how I ordered this meal and what came out.

              • @Moon Pie: Wow, that burger looks even worse than I imagined, and I eat at Maccas at least twice a week.

P.s. nice first post, and kudos to you if you managed to finish it.

              • @ronnknee: Cheers.

P.s. I get the meat sweats when I eat a Double Quarter Pounder, so I don't think this concoction is for me.

                • @[Deactivated]: This works out cheaper than a small Double Quarter Pounder meal and you get a large drink and twice the burger. So much bargain

          • -2

@Moon Pie: You are a bit confused. You only have to order 3 extra patties to get to 4 total (includes the 1 already in the mcfeast) as is clearly shown on the grill slip in your photo. Same goes for cheese and anything else.

            • +1

              @harthagan: I didn't realise the OzBargain community was so OCD. Here is a screen shot of the Maccas app where I select 4 beef patties to make this order;
              https://imgur.com/gallery/O1BgGZK

              • -2

@Moon Pie: No you just explained things incorrectly and then ignorantly defend yourself when it is brought to your attention.

On the app (or the kiosks) you select the total amount of whatever ingredients u want. To say "add" 4 patties is totally incorrect as that would mean u ended up with 5 in total. As pointed out more than once.

                • +1

@harthagan: Lol jesus. Okay bud. I'm completely wrong, I selected add three patties and not 4 like I actually did.

                  • -3

@Moon Pie: Yes you did. As you will see 1 beef pattie is already preselected in the app by default for a mcfeast burger. You added 3 patties to increase the total to 4.

If you check your grill slip it even realised that you wanted 3 extra. Why can't you?

                    • @harthagan: Someone is clearly having a thoroughly interesting day. Wow. Your pedantic ways are laughably embarrassing.

                      • +1

@[Deactivated]: Lol if saying that adding 4 to 1 makes 5 is pedantic, then I'm guilty. The funny thing is I'd never even have said anything except someone else with an ounce of common sense already did and was hilariously "corrected".

                      • +1

@[Deactivated]: It's not really being pedantic. When I first read this I assumed the burger contained 5 patties as OP said to add 4.

If OP had said to change the number of patties from 1 to 4, nobody would have been confused.

                        • @[Deactivated]: …when you first read a post with Quadruple Quarter Pounder in the title you thought that meant it had 5 quarter pound portions… I think it's best to no longer respond to anymore of your comments.

                          • +1

@Moon Pie: I thought you didn't know what the word Quadruple means, just like you don't know what "add" means.

                              • -1

@Moon Pie: A McFeast with 3 extra patties, for a total of 4.

                                • @[Deactivated]: and to achieve that you select which amount of beef patties as the option to add to your order?
                                  Here's a hint; https://imgur.com/gallery/O1BgGZK

                                  • @Moon Pie: Here's a hint: how many times to you have to tap the +1 to get your desired 4. You are missing the point which is that your wording was wrong. It makes sense in your head though so that is all that matters

                                  • @Moon Pie: You can post it as many times as you like, nowhere on that screen does the word 'add' appear. The only place in the App that does say 'add' is where you choose to put something in the burger that otherwise is not there. Funny that, it's almost like McDonald's actually knows what 'add' means.

The irony about this is it's not a great deal. If you added 2 patties to a Double Quarter pounder and used the 25% code, it would only cost about $1.50 more than doing by the McFeast.

                                    Have a nice day.

                                    • @[Deactivated]: it would only cost more. Oh so this deal is better? LMFAO, you can't do maths the difference is $2.14 not $1.50. "Ï thought a quadruple Quarter Pounder would come with FIVE quarter pound beef patties"

                                      • @Moon Pie: 1 McFeast meal costs less than half your 'deal', and is a perfectly adequate meal. That's a great deal, I have had 2 this week.

You have used the discount built into that deal, as the basis to save a small amount of money on a meal that contains more calories and sodium than an average person should consume in a whole day.

Then you've gone on and on because you won't admit your initial post was a bit confusing.

                                        Well done on that.

P.s. yes, I was only estimating your saving. Wow, $2.14 saved, that makes it much better.

                                        • +1

@[Deactivated]: Basic mathematics is very easy to achieve accuracy with. But considering you thought 4 times a quarter equals one and a quarter…

                                          • @Moon Pie: Basic mathematics or knowing the price of every single menu item at Maccas?

I was ESTIMATING how much you saved, why do you not understand basic words?

                          • @Moon Pie: I should report this one as a personal attack.

                    • @harthagan: You see on the app where I selected 4? That's how the app is, it's a little confusing but not worth arguing about. Hypothetically speaking if I had written in my instructions to add three patties MORE people would be telling me I actually selected four. This is the app screen, for the sake of simple instructions selecting add four patties is correct; https://imgur.com/gallery/O1BgGZK

        • +1

Let's settle the debate. If you ask someone at the till to "Add 4 Quarter Pound Patties", they will go to add, then select 4, then the patties. On the screen, it would show up as a McFeast, Extra 4 Patties, not 3. On the app, it is trying to show you what is in the entire burger. Note, you only get charged extra when you purchase 2 or more, meaning that one is included. If you order an extra patty on a McFeast, you would get 2 patties, and only pay the extra charge of $2.25 once.

What OP posted, is what is in the whole burger, NOT what is extra.

One of McD's Competitors back then did a "Third Pounder" to compete against them. Despite tasting better and using better meats, they could not beat McD. When they did a survey of why most Americans thought it was a rip off to get only a 1/3 pounder when McD did a 1/4 pounder instead for the same price.

      That's American Maths for you..

    • +3

I actually was surprised with how much beef/steak flavour it had from a Maccas burger - not sure if that's because of the new recipe they introduced a few months back but I never noticed that taste from maccas before. It was very beefy and greasy. Would recommend after a huge night out.

      • They introduced no recipe recently. It was all marketing.
I got one one of these years ago and with all that meat it tasted very beefy. I remember all the fat dripping into the box as i ate it lol. Tasted good.

  • -3

Man people have a lot of time on their hands. How long did it take you to work this out?

    • +1

Many factors lead to this. Quarter Pounders are my favourite Maccas burger and I frequently order the small McFeast and customise the meal into a small Quarter Pounder meal for $5.60. One day someone posted on OzBargain a $3 quarter pounder reward in the maccas app but I had the 25% off $15 plus spend. So I decided to customise the small McFeast meal to hit the $15 threshold and this beast was born. Add to that I have a reputation among friends and work colleagues for being a big eater who doesn't put on weight so I do stuff like this with friends and on break with work mates for shits and giggles.

      • lucky you that you can eat this and not put on weight. I just gained a kilo looking at the picture . It does look very juicy and tasty. Well done!

  • +1

Look at the grease on that packaging….

  • Insane hack, although I really hope the OP has Health Insurance…

  • Its a thing of beauty.

  • Oooh Mc Arteries !

  • +2

I've got so many app accounts that I always have a 2 for $6 offer or 2 available. Comes out to roughly the same price but better as u get more cheese and also you aren't locked in to buying a minimum of 4 patties. I think my custom double quarter pounder is the perfect ratio with the extra cheese, pickles and sauce :)

  • +2

For those that have the $3 quarter pounder deal in their offers, you can add 3 more patties and the burger cost comes out at $7.50.

    • +1

But if you also add the extra cheese to the $3 Quarter Pounder with the extra meat to equal this burger it comes to $11.55 for just the burger.

  • +6

What makes a burger tasty IMO is a good balance between bread, meats, condiments, and extras such as cheese, pickles, lettuce etc. I wouldn’t find this hack tasty, I think it’s more about telling others I had 4 patties in a burger than enjoying the meal.

If I was being a fat bastard I would prefer 3 McFeast meals than a difficult to eat single burger meal.

    • Yes because they don't add extra ketchup, mustard, pickles, onions if you order it this way.

Much much better off using a 2 for $6 quarter pounder deal and then just combining them together. 2 beef patties, 4 slices of cheese and double the sauce pickles and onions too. I'd prefer one of those any day!

      • +1

you can do all that in the customisation area of the burger.

    • +1

I enjoyed this burger as equally a I would enjoy one or three small McFeast meals. I don't think a true stickler for a tasty burger would consider McDonald's an option. This hack of stacking a reward on top of a discounted meal is not for everyone but it is worth letting the OzBargain community know of the possibilities.

  • A Pounder to be the hangover meal of choice back in my uni days for.a few of my mates and I. Employees at the Maccas by our uni didn’t like seeing us arrive for Friday lunch.. Was an absolute greasy mess. Don’t think the stomach could handle it these days!

  • +2

OP, you don't add 4 of the Quarter Pounder patties. You only add 3, as the burger already comes with one.

    • -1

      You select four patties to get four and be charged for three. Please refer to below screen shot of the app;
      https://imgur.com/gallery/O1BgGZK

      • I'm sorry, did you fail Mathematics in school? You obviously can't do simple maths… where the burger already comes with a patty (1), and if you ask for an extra four (4), it gives you a total of four patties (4)?

    • +1

      This. This guy gets it.

  • get an extra serving of fries using feedback.

  • please a quadruple quarterpounder is just a pounder. Do people not math anymore?

    • Maccas sell a Double Quarter Pounder and don't call it a Half Pounder. If I declared I was having a Pounder I think less people would catch on to what I meant than if I had said a Quadruple Quarter Pounder.

      • fair enough. but if you dug deep enough, even by maccas’ naming conventions, the progression is quarter pounder > double quarter pounder > pounder.

        • I never knew Maccas ever offered a Pounder. An official burger not just a hack and in Australia?

          • @Moon Pie: It's available now in the App if you take a Quarter Pounder and add 4 beef patties.

          • @Moon Pie: Man everone is concerned about the stats, these fwits dont understand that you tried to show them a deal. Lol

  • How to get the 25% over $15 discount? I registered and try to order but no discount is being applied?
