    Hard to find series 4 and the 5 one is pretty expensive. I don't know if worth waiting I would like to buy for my wife but cannot find any good deal.

  What we almost got tripped up on is you need a compatible iOS level phone to go with the watch. The iPhone 6 and below won’t cut it anymore with watch OS6 because iPhone 6 can’t go to iOS 13.

    Can't you still use WatchOS 5 with IOS 12?
    Not a series 5, but the S3 should be OK.

      I was expecting it to be cheaper. I thought Apple dropped the price on Series 3 recently (starting at $319).

      Edit: just had a look Series 4 is gone from Apple’s site, so maybe better to look for bargains on S4.

        Haven't seen a lot of series 4 deals out there. If you find some please post. Apple is keeping Series 3 and Series 5.

          @try2bhelpful: I will if I come across one, but I think the Apple Watch is still a bit too ‘niche’.
          Just to let you know there was a recent forum topic on the ‘cellular’ models, and this comment reported poor performance (battery drain) when in a less than ideal area.

          If you can get by, the GPS model sounds like the better pick.

            @thebadmachine: Probably always would be. Battery drain in marginal reception is a problem with a lot of “phones”.

            I’ve posted some series 4 discounts through Costco.
