Plantronics Backbeat GO 410 in-Ear Wireless Headphones (Bone) $100 Pick up Only @ JB Hi-Fi

100

Have been searching for a lower cost noise cancelling in ear headphones to use in an open office. Accepting they are not Bose, Seinheiser B&O or Sony I am pretty happy with the sound produced by the Plantronics for $100 when I had a $50 JBHIFI card to use up.
Cheers

Plantronics are on par or even better than the brands mentioned actually

    • I disagree. This brand mainly produces decent Bluetooth products for many years. And they were usually overpriced and not offering same quality as other brands mentioned .

    • Isn't more important to compare a particular model more than the brand, as most brands have various models.

Bit like a One Plus used to be just that, now there is also a Pro ( for a lot more $ ) lol.

  • These look like BeatsX. If you use an iPhone you may want the BeatsX instead.

    • That's funny. Just because they are currently owned by the same company?

BeatsX has the same X1 chip inside of it that Airpods do, letting you easily sync it to Apple devices. It’s more handy than funny.

        • Oh, sorry. That makes sense then. Shows how little I know about Apple, but apple again up to their compatibility tricks.

@ozhunter68: Sound quality is good too on the BeatsX, it’s surprisingly flat. Bass heads would be disappointed.

Not a big fan of the larger over ear ones so I got a set in Dec last year. These are great for that price. I got it for 140 back then and been using it for all my flights - theyr great. Got a tip online that it fits the Bose ear buds replacement - I thoroughly recommend the Bose earbuds coz itll fit much better (for me at least) and the sound isolation from them are much much better. U can get them for like $10 for set of 3. Its probably not s good s the expensivier Bose units. Reviews online claim that theres a soft "hissing" sound - totally agree, but not enough for me to chuck it out coz the Planes turbo engine is much louderer :P. Mine last around 6hrs with ANC from full charge so, not great for long flights - maybe i should buy another one now- 6+6!

    • What’s the rrp of these, seems good, meets all the criteria long battery life, Bluetooth 5.0. How’s the noise cancellation in isolating voices and static noise from fans for example.

I switched from Bose QC25 to these a few months ago.

        • Noise cancellation is not as good as the QC25 (maybe 90% as effective). This is comparing the maximum ANC capability (The app has three levels of noise cancellation, as some people don't like 'suction' feeling of high end ANC).

        But…

        • Comfort is significantly better. I've worn these on multiple long haul flights without issue. With the QC25, I felt heat/discomfort after a few hours

        • These get used a lot more than my QC25. The form factor (and price) mean I feel a lot more comfortable throwing them in my bag/pocket/neck-under-shirt. I always have them on me, even when I wasn't expecting to need them.

        • The feeling of just unplugging them and letting them mag-attach and dangle under my shirt. This compared to the preparation required to stop music/Netflix, disconnect, pack up, fold up, fit into case, jam case into bag…

        • More useful for active activities, QC25 never felt right wearing for a walk to the shop, let alone a quick run

I saw the comment above about the Bose ear tips. I'm keen to give that a try if anybody has a link.

        • Does the Plantronics have 3 anc modes or are you referring to the Bose

        • Try looking up "Replacement Ear Bud Tips for BOSE QC20i QC20 QuietComfort Earphones Headphones". I got them from HK via ebay for like 4-5aud delivered.

As for isolating voice and fans, dont really know. Ive only used them in the plane, office and in my gym where they play too much loud techno music. Theyve been good at muffling down the voices - Felt bad for the air service staff trying to get my attention when Im watching netflux, lol.
