Why not other dog names ????

    • You missed out a chance to comment that people should provide their own Spots. :)

Good initiative! More councils should do this!

liverpool council do it once in a while, and without limiting it to any number

  • Awesome incentive.

I might get one for myself. Might come in handy after a big night out on the turps!

Great, was planning to sell my dog. This should add a bit of value.

  • Shipping costs?

    • +1

      No, just embarking cost. :)

  • -1

can they put down as well

  • -7

I'd never do it to an animal I love…julia gillard on the other hand…

    • Research the health implications for your pet before you do this…up to you to make the choice!

      • +1

isn't it compulsory to get your pet micro-chipped before you can register them with the council?

    • -1

So six ozbargainers are gullible people who don't like to research…

      Okay…

Microchipping has been linked to rapid growth tumours in domestic animals. As well as in the early days a few of them broke and gave lithium poisoning to animals. Not a nice way to die either way…

Do your research, if you still want to go ahead and do this to your pet, I can't stop you!

      • +3

I don't think a clear link has been established. Most of the conclusions are based on small generally flawed studies. In any event it would be down to the chemical composition of the coatings used, which would differ between manufacturers, or just the impact of the resulting immune response from anything foreign inserted into the skin. What is the cancer rate of a piercing or a breast implant?
