MSY taking 2 months+ with warranty

I had a graphics card that died on me a few months after purchase so I wanted refund/replacement. I asked for a refund but they said they could not do that as I had bought the card from a interstate branch and I was trying to RMA it from a different branch. I felt like this was wrong but the manager insisted that he could not do that.

MSY said they could do a RMA with the manufacturer (Sapphire) and it would take 3-4 weeks. It has been 2 months and they still have yet to get back to me.

I did contact them about 3 weeks ago to see how everything was going but they said they were still waiting on the manufacturer to get back to them.

Is there anything I can do at this point?

I had a similar issue with some faulty RAM. I ended up contacting their compliance officer - and the issue was resolved fairly quickly thereafter….

    • I contacted their compliance officer when I checked up on them 3 weeks ago but I guess it doesn't hurt to do it again. Was there anything specific that you mentioned that you think might have sped up the process?

I think its called the A.C.C.C.

Yes, I dropped something from the ACL about the product being fit for purpose. I copied in their "feedback" and "compliance-officer" - and I had a response and resolution within 2 days

edit - Here's what I had in my email:

Given that the part should be covered by a lifetime warranty and was purchased less than 6 months ago I find it unreasonable to have to wait 4 weeks just to be told whether it will be replaced or I will be refunded.

As per section 16 of the ACL posted on your website, I would like either a replacement for the module, or a refund so I can purchase a replacement for the part.

        • Thank you very much, I'll mention that.

  • 2 months? Pfft, I had a mobo that took 3 months to replace from a different retailer.
