28 Degrees Delayed Flight Free Lounge Pass Eligibility

I registered a flight 5J744 and a week later it was reported as being "flight changed". It is still 5J744 but will be leaving 4:55am the next day instead of 10pm, so about 7 hour delay.

Is this going to count to get the free lounge pass? It seems like a legitimate situation based on their terms and conditions.

But the policy condition of "lounge passes can only be issued if the airline accurately reports the delay to FlightStats" seems pretty dodgy. Who knows if they will report it as technically cancelled or just not report it at all and nothing will happen.

I didn't get emailed any pass so maybe nothing will happen.

Wondering if it was a waste of time to enter in all that info to the 28 degrees site when it may be super super rare that you can ever actually redeem anything.

Just claim it, you stand to gain something and lose nothing for your effort.

Access is dependent on receiving an automated email/SMS. There's nothing to claim.

Nope, your flight is rescheduled not delayed. It will not trigger flightstats, and thus no SMS.

The best way to think of this is, "What will the screen in the airport display?".
    Will it state:
    (a) Flight XXXX, Date, 10:00pm, Delayed till 4:55am
    or
    (b) Flight XXXX, Date, 4:55am, On Time

Most likely not. Although it may be very inconvenient for you, especially at that hour, a flight that has been deliberately retimed in advance is not regarded as delayed.

It should be reported and show the new timing. Unfortunately that won't help you.

It's not perfect but it's generally reasonable, especially with longer delays (whereas shorter delays may get missed or misreported).

If you are delayed, which you don’t really want to be, it’s like insurance, when you need it, you are glad you have it.

I think you need to register for the offer at the time of making a booking - not after you become of a delay

There is no requirement to register at the time of booking.
