    Good to see.

One place I visited a couple of times was always giving less discount than they were supposed to…

    • Yep whenever I have a 5% off extra discount I rarely get it. One time also got charged 20% for a 30% off.

      • +1

I think they do it deliberately knowing that most people aren't going to complain because they are already getting a discount, and there are other customers in the store.

        Pre-paying would fix this…

I always tell them my discount as well. One time I did complain as the cafe owner was being an absolute dick to me and accusing me of being cheapskate trying to Rip him off when all I wanted was to pay the right amount. That time eatclub transferred me 20 to my account. Most of the time I don't complain.

I would have just walked out and said nothing… Then they lose a sale…

          • @gottacatchemall: Yeah one owner wasn't happy that we could use it and gave condescending tone. Then another place suddenly put minimum charge? Where's it in the T & C? Sigh.

            • +1

@Jay408: Eatclub generally does have a minimum spend that shows up when you choose dine in or takeaway. Maybe you missed it? Anyway in my case it wasn't just the tone he abused me and swore at me.

Same here, it's the additional 5% (redeemed through promo code) that gets missed by the vendor. In saying that, I must applaud Eatclub's customer service as they've been delightful in handling complaints and have also refunded the difference when I sent a complaint once.

  • Hoping the $5 come to Brisbane!

Big fan of this App. Use it for the fancy(ish) pizza place around the corner. Large pizza for $12 in Richmond most Sunday nights goes down a treat

This app is so good honestly. I went to that Goldie Canteen with 50% off the bill quite a few times to get some delicious baos and katsu toasties. Lots of good offers on the app and this deal seems quite good too.

Used eatclub for ages but has anyone got this to work? I click a place and then load the menu. When I try to add the $5 meal to cart it crashes.

    • me too. got the same issue :( even updated the app to the latest version.

  • Update to Latest Version.
    Click on Takeaway Option.
Then go and order the $5 Menu Item.
    Get Verified by SMS.
    Place Order.
    Enjoy.

Seems like a really rushed update.. Not the most intuitive way of placing an order, and mine crashes too. Oh well.

  • Two locations advertised in email not doing $5 meals, let alone anything else. Seems like this is an epic fail.

    • +1

Browse via the app, could be timed deals for some too so they are not live.

      • No time ranges or order limits have been published anywhere. Checked T&Cs. As someone else said, this looks rushed. Back to Liven for me….

  • Is it just me, or are there no $5 deals showing? I can only see the "$5 meal" graphic, but no actual deals.

    • I couldn't figure it out earlier either. Go to takeaway and then choose to order through the app. You can then order the 5 dollar meal.

      • Right, but when I tap the actual restaurant, I don't see any meals – only the usual percentage discount.

        • +2

tap their menu, you should see the $5 deal at the top of then menu.

          • @Oz8argain: Aha! Thanks! They should have mentioned that step in the email/website 🙄

            • +1

@itsfree: Its really stupid. Ordering the deal is a different process too. You have to claim their deal like normal (ex. 35% off takeaway), then it directs you to the order page for the $5 deal…

              • @Oz8argain: Right. They definitely need to improve the UX for this. Not to mention the app crashes and random logouts – I redeemed a standard percentage-off deal in the app today, and it kept crashing while I switched between it and another app, and logging me out.

  • So you have to pay via the app for this?

  • Has anyone tried? Do they give full size food cuz been to places where they offer special deals and the size was smaller than the original meals.

  • Oh man the app doesn't work. Keeps crashing and then at 8:30pm can't even click on the $5 offer unbelievable!! Go ZG.

    • Admittedly very buggy but I managed to place an order yesterday with Laksa Bar.

      Received this e-mail today:

      Hey There!

We just wanted to reach out, as we've been made aware of a processing error from your bank. As a result of this error, you may see a 'cash advance fee' on your statement relating to your recent in-app order.

We want you to know that - regardless of whether you see this fee or not - we're refunding $5 back on your card, for every order you placed this week. We've already initiated these refunds and they should appear on your statement within the next 3-5 business days.

We've also fixed this issue so it won't occur again going forward. As a result, you may receive a prompt to add your card again the next time you complete an in-app order on EatClub.

Thanks again for placing an in-app order this week! If you have any questions about this issue, please don't hesitate to reach out via reply email.

Sounds like they've rushed the implementation of it but pretty gracious with providing the credits. Once again I must say I can't fault their customer service at all.

      • Did you have probs with selecting the $5 menu item? Is there some cut off order time? Ate leftovers tonite :(

        • +1

No, although if you do a mock order but don't complete it the app still registers as if you have redeemed it.

No cut off order time although there are limited deals available through each merchant so best to get in early.

Hope you have better luck for rest of the week!

          • @Craze: Uninstalled and reinstalled. Still didn't work. Imma determined to get my $5 meal still haha.
