  • Do people normally take the day off in Sydney on Melbourne Cup day?

Just very curious to know what employers provide to their employees in Sydney.

    • No, Nothing.

      • I know its not a public holiday, that's why I ask if people in Sydney just take the day off via Annual leave or the employer just let them finish early at 12pm.

I know some people companies actually go out on Melbourne cup day and get on the piss.

        • +1

Most companies I've worked for in Sydney have given the afternoon off, either to do your own thing or a company organised event.

          • @Hellfire: Nice, were they ASX200 companies?

  • Voucher can be used for brunch cruise only. Cruise duration is for three hours. Lunch cruises are 1pm - 4pm.

Is this for a brunch cruise or lunch cruise?

Do they remain within Darling Harbour? - if so there's not much cruising to be had there.

Finally is this self-serve so i can eat for 5 people?

Tbh the real deal is $20 extra for unlimited beer / wine

    • Here here …without the booze option i would be overboard in minutes of boredom! Especially with work colleagues crikey!

  • OP @TravelzooAustralia spends time posting this, but no time answering questions even though they've been back here since.

Not a good look. You might like to review your approach…
