  • Hang on, why does it say "by 10am Friday".
That makes sound like the offer is on now until this Friday at 10 o'clock.

I'd try to claim it of I were within a reasonable distance.

    • Just confirmed with Balmain store and they said it starts on friday when Stores open. It ends at 10:00 am the same day or until stock runs out.

I thought there was a law stating that alcohol could not be sold before 10 a.m. … Is that incorrect? Technically they are not selling it I suppose, but I still would've thought the law would apply… i.e. they are supplying it from a commercial entity licensed to sell it…

      • But the ad says, "From 10am"

        ???

  • never mind

Would love to know the type of clientele they are going for giving away a six pack of beer at 10am on a Friday.

Those that don't have Thursday night hangovers

  • Make your own legendary beer run to one of these stores by 10:00AM on Friday, 18th of October for a chance to pick up one of the world's rarest 6-packs.

Chances are they are already sold out in stores haha. Doesn't say how long it's been running, but if there is stock it'll sure go today.
Edit: apparently just strange wording on website, starts when stores open on Friday.

  • I’ve got a meeting in Brunswick on Fri. Hmm venue change is require I think

Are they even allowed to sell/give away booze before 10am?

Belgian Blonde Ale: A Mexican non-pasteurised light ale with sour citrus on the nose

    ???

  • I know where I'm going this Friday morning ty!

  • It says:
"Make your own legendary beer run to one of these stores from 10:00AM on Friday"

That suggests after 10am to me.

Either way, I imagine all the staff at the Woolies next door will have first dibs.

I arrived about 9.10 at the end of a reasonably long queue (guestimate 100 people) outside Balmain BWS. Someone collected name, email and survey questions, and opined that the stock should stretch this far.. By 10am the queue was about twice as long.
At 10 they started admitting people, one in one out, from the queue into the store to collect a crate/6-pack from the cash desk.

Curiously, several groups of people started leaving the queue as they reached the front!

There had been a guy in a flouro work shirt directly in front of me that left the queue early on when people started taking photos. I assume he was worried his excuse for turning up to work late would be blown, or else he realised he'd be queueing for some time. But why all the other people started leaving the line and just waiting outside I haven't a clue.

Seems like a decent enough collection of beers - some are very strong (9.1%). Certainly a more interesting selection than those generic "Beers of the World" packs which all have run-of-the-mill, ubiquitous staples from the major multinational breweries.

Thanks OP and those that posted above - although I had already seen the deal (in a British newspaper!) and was about to question if it was a legit deal.
