  • Anyone heard of these guys before?

    • Nope. See my post below.
The electric skateboard Subreddit is also a great area for info: https://www.reddit.com/r/ElectricSkateboarding/

    • I bought a Ninebot ES2 eScooter from their eBay store a year ago - no issues.

I live in QLD so got it delivered from Sydney.
They have a brick store so are not an online only seller.

Overpriced rebranded generic chinese boards. Won't even specify the type of battery they're using (which is the main area of cutting costs). Are they 20Rs, 30Qs, 40Ts?
Stick with Ownboard, Wowgo or Meepo for chinese boards with an established rep for a similar/better price.

I in particular recommend the ownboard W2 which I made a post about here: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/457207

      Hi Plasmapuff

You can read our reviews on Google, and learn about our warranty and support on our website!

The details of the batteries are on each product page!

      I hope I was helpful!

I suppose IF you lived in Sydney and really valued local warranty support then go for it. I stand by my comments of better specs at a similar/better price with other established branded boards though.

        Your battery details are incomplete.
        Eg - "Lithium-ion 8.8Ah / 24V / 211Wh"
What brand are they? Samsung/LG/Sanyo/Or generic no brands? Also what type - 20Rs, 30Qs, 40Ts…?
As you know, the batteries are the most expensive parts and makes a huge difference to the durability (cycles), voltage sag and even general dependability of the quoted spec numbers.

Would you mind answering this question?

        • Hi Plasmapuff,

I will need to check with my colleagues, however I know they are either Samsung or LG - we only specify these and always avoid using Chinese or other branded 18650s.

Could you please link the cheaper alternative boards?

            @ModernPowerSolutions: Ownboard W2 - $925 https://www.ownboard.net/collections/boards/products/w2-ownb…
Belt motor, 9AH battery, exchangeable wheels - blows your Lunara $900 hub motor board out of the water.

            Wowgo 2S $620 - https://wowgoboard.com/collections/wowgo-board-3/products/wo…
Blows all your other hub motor boards away. Better battery, motors, range, top speed, remote.

Also it looks like you're using a cheap generic ESC vs. Hobbywing which is the gold standard for cheap non Focbox boards ($1000+).
            - going to be jerky in comparison.

Kuodos for trying to be a locally sourced supplier, but seriously I think you would be better off drop shipping a more established brand and then charging more for local stock and warranty support rather than import and rebrand generic chinese boards which can't compete on specs and are already a couple of generations behind.

            • @plasmapuff: Yes, we will be getting the Boosted Boards next month! Hopefully the evolve not too far away!

              But I agree with you!

Also, the boards you linked before are much more expensive

W2 owner here. Great budget board with enough power for most and absolutely great battery life

I bought the Lunara board from here. Took a bit of time to get used to but is alright. However, these are generic boards as said above.

Will probably buy a more known branded one next time as they are quite cheap feeling and both my front LED lights have failed within the first few months. Also, the boards seem to slow down on their own after 50 percent battery.

    • That's voltage sag. The fact that they don't give the full battery specs probably means they're using unbranded generic batteries which are renowned for voltage sag and having overinflated spec sheets.

      • i bought a top end board, evolve carbon gt and I get epic voltage sag because they too use crappy batteries. Unfortunately, you'll likely need to get aftermarket batteries yourself.
