Great game for the price, didn't really get into
Multiplayer but worth it just for campaign.

    Pre-empting some questions:

No, the multiplayer community isn't very active.

Yes, this game is definitely worth it just for the campaign. Get it.

Was what I was thinking, I always had in my head this was a online-only game….

      • +2

Pretty sure Titanfall 1 was online-only

    • I play TF|2 multiplayer 2-3 times per week on XB1. Usually hit either the Singapore or Sydney servers (I'm Perth-based so latency is the same for me at ~55ms).

I find mornings the best bet, with ~4k players and don't have to wait very long for a match to start. 1-2mins tops. Nights can be tough to get a match, with wait times in the 10-15min range :(

      <high 5's in MRVN>

Xbox has a lot of players, around 5,000 active, im sorry but you are incorrect.

      • 5,000 sounds a lot, but it’s hard to get a match quickly. Wait times can vary between 5 to 20 minutes.

  • Also available if you have EA Access.

Hands down the best Single Player in an FPS. Just my opinion though.

I've completed all CODs upto WW2, excluding Infinite Warfare and all Battlefields upto BF1 (except for Battlefield Hardline). None of them have that intimate feeling (I know, Price, Soap, Woods and Mason were pretty good characters).

    • +1

Definitely not just your opinion - mine as well!!

I'm a MASSIVE Titanfall fan (I bought the collectors edition with the helmet), but I wouldn't call it the BEST campaign in an FPS. It's damn good and in my top 3, but other titles like Halo 1/2/3 or Dead Space or Spec Ops: The Line beat in scale, atmosphere or story. Also COD4 MW was a stunner when it was released, never before had my player character die as part of the intro. I actually thought I did something wrong so I restarted to the last checkpoint before accepting his fate hahaha

      • +2

        I specifically said FPS .

        Bazinga.

Yeah, I don't like Big Bang Theory either. But I'd be lying if I said that I'm not amazed by the acid trip of an experience that Spec Ops is, more so than the intimacy that the partnership of Cooper and BT showcases in TF2.

About Halo, I don't know..I could just never get into it. I've never been the Sci-Fi type, never watched any Star Wars movie other than Solo (that I was kinda forced to watch), never played any of the games, never watched Star Trek either. I have played through all of Halo Reach, which I was gifted and tried a bit of Halo CE on PC but…eh, not my thing.

With Dead Space, I'll admit my guilt here. I've played 10 mins of the 1st one, and about the same of the 3rd one but something always distracted me from it and I never played it through, even though I had Dead Space 1 sitting right there on my PC, when it was free on Origin. Maybe I shouldn't have blown all those hours on NFS MW 2012 and spent some time with Dead Space. We all have our regrets…

        • +1

Hahaha acid trip of an experience describes Spec Ops quite well! I'm not trying to bag on TF2 in any way here, I loved the development between Jack and BT during the campaign and I loved the game as a whole. I was just saying it's not a hands down winner as there are other DAMN good FPS games campaigns out there. Glad you enjoyed it though :)

    • Black Ops 1 campaign was also great.

      • +3

THE NUMBERS, MASON! WHAT DO THEY MEAN?!

    • +1

Titanfall 2 and Infinite Warfare are both hands down some of the best campaigns in an FPS. You really try out Infinite Warfare too.

      • I do remember starting it. But I had to re-install the OS or something and then I just couldn't bother downloading like 50GB on the crappy connection I had back then.

The weird story of BO3 left such a bad taste in my mouth that even rinsing it with WW2 didn't help in pushing me towards downloading it again. I'll give it another try before the year ends. Thanks for the recommendation.

        • +1

Bo3's story was genuine trash, im glad i didnt pay money to play it. I got it for free. COD Infinite Warfare though, honestly, it is hands down one of the best campaign I have ever played, especially for an FPS. 2016 was a fantastic year for shooters, TF2, COD IW, and BF1.

So worth it just for the campaign

I'll forever be stumped as to why Titanfall (1 & 2) didn't catch on like wildfire. At least Respawn are finally getting their recognition for Apex Legends.

    • +1

Just bad luck i guess. First game was xbox exclusive, and Xbox did not have a good run this generation. TF2 released in between BF1 and COD, and that sealed its fate. Terrible luck for the devs, they deserved more.

      • +1

Can you even call the TF2 release bad luck though? EA published BF1 & TF2 and had to have known they were severely hurting Titanfall 2's chances. I prefer Titanfall to Battlefield and even I picked up BF1 for the hype (and because that's what my mates play)

        • +1

Yeah EA knew what they were doing, bad it was bad luck for the devs to have chosen them as their publisher. My biggest regret was not buying TF2 at launch. I bought it a year later in December 2017, and realised i majorly screwed up by only buying BF1 in 2016. This game deserved so much more. I have been playing TF2 ever since I bought it. Never ever gets old, and I am not exaggerating.

          • @BukLau1000: I'm with you man. I did buy Titanfall about a month after it released and gawd damn I love that game. Respawn are top devs as well when they introduced the horde team mode (ages after release) I got right into that. I'm an Apex addict now but I know what you mean about Titanfall I never got tired of it, just became tedious waiting for games when the player count died off.

            • @TheGoodPart: on ps4 the playerbase is still active and you generally dont have to wait longer than 2 minutes to find a game, and thats only the first match. After every match finishes its usually instant. The game might not have that many people playing (about 5-7k on xbox, 4k for ps4, and i think 2k for pc) but its a loyal playerbase, so it generally isnt hard to find games. Respawn deserved better. I do hope they make a Titanfall 3.

              • @BukLau1000: Ahh I'm a PC player and it was pretty grim for a while there but you could generally get a match without waiting too long around 7-8pm but during the day which is when I prefer to play forget it. Yeah the negative of Apex being a financial success is it no doubt pushes back TF3 - and we pay not even get it at all. EA only see's dollar signs unfortunately.

  • Thanks for the heads up. Will grab

  • Any way to play this on PC?

  • +1

Buy this if you can, even if you are ps4 and PC and its not on sale. Hands down the best multiplayer in an FPS, an amazing campaign, and online is still active. Trust me, you will not be disappointed. Have over 400h in this game, been playing it since release, it never gets old.
