    The Realtek RTL8812 chipset is known to have issues with the raspberry pi. As there are no in-kernel drivers for this chip you will need to resolve driver installation manually.

      Thanks mate, saved me a headache. Any chance you have a recommendation for one that does work for a reasonable price? On Amazon they are a little ambiguous with what will work with the pi2

      I would say quality control. Also that buyer is based in China which can easily cause you 2 weeks before you can touch the product.

          Seller's profile says he is based in China while listing says item is in Melbourne. Presumably that seller operates a warehouse in Melbourne?

          Otoh according to the item descriptions, the Volans has a 2dB gain antenna while the cheaper unnamed product has a 5dB gain antenna. Not sure how much can we trust these though.

          you are correct but the driver only supports windows, so i am not sure how to use under MAC OS.

      The $17.5 was on special 3 month ago, and normal price is $35. We are doing the special again this time @$19 due to weaker AUD.
