Where were you earlier HN? I just bought a crappy TT combo a few hours ago.

  • Great mouse. I use this at work :D

    • Same here. I use a mac and mapped it to all the mac shortcuts with all the buttons. Works great.

    • I am looking for a mouse to use at work too. My basic problem is support for pinky finger. Does this mouse provide any support for pinky for or is this small enough to rest my finger on table? TIA.

      • +2

Depends how big your hand is. For me my pinky sits on the table, it's not a massive mouse like some of the other gaming ones, but it's also slightly bigger than the default Dell/Lenovo mouses you get from work.

        • Thanks mate

      • I use a big blob of blutak as a pinky support on every mouse I’ve bought. Gets sticky in summer though.

    Normal price

    edit:

    $45 pickup (or + shipping)
    $47 shipped

Harvey Norman clearance/special price is basically just the regular price elsewhere.

Seems to be around the $45 mark at loads of places

I picked up a G502 around this price back in the day…

  • Great mouse, I own 2, and although I'm looking for an upgrade soon but I enjoy the time using it.

  • Aldi has a gaming mouse going on sale on Oct 19th for $49 with PWM3360 sensor that might also be worth a look.

    • I've been using my Aldi gaming mouse for about 8 years now and I still love it.

  • Not a bad price at all.

How does something like this compare to the Razer Deathadder? Fairly similar?

    • Deathadder elite or essential?

      • Elite

        • +1

elite has better sensor but shouldn't be much difference anyway
elite on the other hand is bit larger, suits 18cm+ hand

          • @beOson: Thanks for your comment. I've got fairly large hands so it souunds like the elite might be the way to go for me!

Anybody know of a decent wireless mouse for around 70bucks.

    • +3

G304 or a G403/G703 if you want a bigger heavier mouse.

      • Stay away from G703 (and probably every other wireless logitech mouse), they have a known problem with static building up in the mouse and causing multiple clicks.

My two week old G703 is showing signs and I'm torn between returning it and praying it doesnt happen too often

Bought one of these used quite a while ago. It is a decent mouse but for less money you can get a g102 which is a fair bit better imo.

    • Can't find the g102 anywhere in Australia, got any links?

  • +1

Much prefer the G502 Hero for a fair bit more $$$. I have both bnut the G402 is just a little big in the hand where the G502 fits like a glove. Try it out in person first if you can.

  • Theres one on Gumtree for $40

    • i just looked at that.

  • how do you compare this with MX ANYWHERE 2S

    • Those are completely different mice for different targets… Wire vs wireless is a big enough difference.

      • I just need a mice for work. don't care if it is wireless or not.
The reason i am asking is the price range is similar.
        Any advise?

        • +1

I enjoy having the anywhere 2s because it can switch between multiple devices (theres a button on the back). The logitech flow is also good for multi device productivity as yuou can copy and paste between different computers on the same network. This isnt particularly useful if you only have one computer to work with. However, the mouse is really small compared to the G402 and so you end up using only your fingers to control it with palm resting on table, whereas a fuller sized mouse you can use your wrist more as your hand is supported by the mouse. Its really a preference thing on that end, but work productivity would go to the anywhere 2s (Pretty sure they have a new version too)

    • Let me guess, you've never actually used a mouse for more than half an hour at a time?

    • +3

      quality?

    • +2

Seriously, I used to think that all mice are the same.

Got myself a G402 last year for $37 at JB and holy (profanity) it's lifechanging.

Media keys to control spotify, the feel in the hand, the DPI settings if you play any competitive games… the list goes on.

Seriously, a good mouse is something you won't regret.

  • WARNING: The middle button on this mouse is a problem. Google it: the middle mouse button breaks early. Happened to me after about 1 year. I'm limping along with a G402 with a wonky middle button right now. Other than that it's a great mouse at this price.

    • +1

Damn that sucks, I've had mine for about 5 years with no issues.

      • +1

have had mine for 4 years and 2 years (I've got 2), all working fine.

        • Glad to hear some good reports then. I might buy another one today! I do like the mouse, but the middle button does have this reputation. It's come up before on previous G402 bargains - that's how I found out I'm not alone.

          • @Morven: I WAS WRONG! I apologise - it's the G502 that has the middle mouse button problem. Not the G402 discussed here.

  • I have a G500 for a long time and now it has a high pitched sound (whine noise), but when the mouse is moving the sound is gone…
Does anyone know how to fix this? Thanks.

  • What's the closest mouse you can get to a g400 these days?

  • +1

    Thanks OP. Just ordered one.
