  • Any ceiling speaker deals? Thinking of using ceiling speakers for surround 5.1 setup

    • +1

Yeah we definitely do.. The Q Acoustics in-ceiling speakers are at a great price at the moment! I'd be looking at the Qi65c or the Qi80c if you need to stick to a budget and of course you get a further 10% off the advertised price, otherwise the Canton in-ceilings are also ones to have a look at… they're currently at full retail price but the Halloween Sale still applies to those as well!

If you'd like to discuss further feel free to give us a call at one of our stores in Preston or Hampton :)

What do these have to do with Halloween?

    • +1

You'd prefer vendors to just sell pumpkins?

      • +1

        Pumpkin speakers?

      • Not limited to pumpkins; I'm ok with costumes, lollies, fruit, etc.

I am also ok with retailers selling things cheaper than RRP, obviously.

But I cannot see any link between a speaker system and the concept of Halloween.

        • +4

Well for anyone who loves a good horror film they need a solid speaker system to get the best out of it right? (Also we love any excuse to give people a great sale so why not for Halloween) :)

@FunkyDan: Yep, you regularly post deals here, and I can understand your EOFY and stocktake references in those.
But Halloween isn't really linked to your products, and I question if horror films are a justifiable link.

            • @GG57: Why do you care so much? It's just an excuse to have a sale, there doesn't need to be a link. They can call it the 4th week in October sale for all I care.

              • @F-22: Yep, that would work.

            • @GG57: One could argue that EOFY sales have nothing to do with audio equipment either. Do they help me with my taxes or something?

    • +6

I'm totally alright with anyone using Halloween as an excuse to make deals.

      • -3

That is my point; it is purely using the event as a marketing ploy with no discernible link.

        • +2

Halloween is nothing more than a commercial holiday anyway.

  • Are the stands included?

    • No unfortunately. The price is for the speakers alone :)

"now enables a playback of 42 to 40,000 Hz"

What's the point of a frequency response spec without a dB range? There may be a response at 42 Hz but I bet you can't hear it.

  • Such good pricing on the Canton sound bases (DM55, DM75, DM100).

As I've said in previous posts, these units are incredible value for the sound/simplicity!!

Rep, do you have any in the white finish or only black? So tempted…

    • The only one we have in white in the soundbases are the DM100 :)

  • What exactly is this or rather what does it mean/do? "An interplay of elaborate wave-guide"

    • It means Canton has been infiltrated by the arty-farty and it is losing focus on engineering.

  • How do the Canton GLE436 compare to the Wharfedales Diamond 11.1? I prefer a warmer sound, and good bass.

  • @FunkyDan
I am looking for a 10" or 12" Subwoofer, not too expensive and has good low frequency bass.

Let me know if you can assist. I have Denon 4500H.

    TIA

    Sumeet
