Whats a good juicer?!

Am looking to get a juicer for health reasons, and being ozbargain not only do i want a high quality product, i want the best price!

In my mind im thinking upto $300 is ok for me, im not looking to spend $1200 just yet.

Any recomendations? I believe that the slower it runs, the cooler it runs therefore which means it keeps more nutrients.

When I was into juicers several years ago, I realised that the guy behind Discount Juicers had the best information offerings. He's got lots of good Youtube vids to check out which will offer much more useful info than you'd get from this forum. As you're on a tight budget, I'd check the Aussie prices of the units he reviews before getting carried away.

    • I saw him. Talk about in depth reviews!

  • Aren't a lot of the nutrients in the skin/fibres of the fruit or vegetable? I'd opt for a Vitamix or something similar. I've used a Hurom juicer and they're a PITA to clean.

    Definitely the Juice Loosener.
    It's whisper quiet.

A true ozbargainer would just eat more fruit and veg without resorting to buying a machine to blend it up for you - that’s what teeth are for!

    • Teeth cost too much to maintain.

A truer true OzBargainer would have teeth removed and pay a one time flat fee for a juicer for all occasions.

    • Money saving tip: chew your damn food

  • Better to get a blender (which is cheaper than a juicer) to retain the fibre - your microbiome will thank you.

  • I got a slow juicer from Aldi. Brand is ambiano

Would I recommend it?… If you're on a budget I think its worth looking into it. But otherwise - meh, it does the job. doesn't blow me away

But as others have said, a blender is heaps better. Whilst the vitamin is expensive, its totally worth it. Plus its ten times easier to clean out after using it compared to any juicer

Go for a slow-press or auger based machine.

We have had the DA-1000 for a few years and it goes well, is easy to clean too, much easier than the centrifugal ones. The slow type juicers are apparently better in terms of pesticides (google for the info. )

  • These guys are good and based in Melbourne https://www.froothie.com.au/store/optimum-juicer

  • Some good recommendations, cheers. In regards to using a blender, I would still have to strain the liquid (for the particular food group I’m looking to use). Anything I buy needs to also be quiet as I would be doing it first thing in the morning!

  • Got a breville, its powerful and works well. Don’t use it though cos theyre all annoying to clean

    • So buy it, but dont use it? Will do!
