  • Nice find!
Thanks! Stocked up, had just one lightbar, just bought the additional 2 to make it complete. The GU10s are perfectly priced too.
With cashback and with 5% prime discount its a steal!
Probably better to price match at Bunnings, but who knows how long this deal will last…

    • Running to bunning at 6am tmr šŸ˜†

      • They only match brick and mortar stores usually? GL!

      • Did the price beat it? About to do the same..

    • Ignore me. Forgot about the price beat.

  • What about the b22?

  • -2

so frustrating that the stuff I want cant be stacked with the 20% off with an echo device. was about to drop 1.6k aud

  • Damn I shouldnā€™t have bought the Hue sensor and light strip during bing lee sale but I still could use another light strip and dimmer switch! Gotta love amazon pricing for prime.

    • how much was the sensor during the big lee sale

      • Hey youā€™re right! Only $26.40 after I checked my emails. I thought it was more - so cheaper than Amazon.

EDIT: Iā€™m not actually sure how much I paid. EBay emails and PayPal emails all have conflicting numbers due to how they gross up discounts and I canā€™t tell easily (on my iPhone) whether I used a gift card.

The light strip at $80 isnā€™t bad and the dimmer switch at $22 is good for current pricing. I usually get the dimmer switches around $30 at TGG with price matching so I can use those otherwise useless concierge credits.

        • Can the sensor be assigned to multiple lights? ie One sensor activates all your outdoor lights?

          • @FSTB: I didnā€™t think so as itā€™s ā€œZoneā€ based.
However if you have home assistant etc you can override it however you like.

Iā€™ve just replaced my hue hub with the deconz/conbee that was posted last week. Very happy.

          • +1

@FSTB: Itā€™s based on rooms/zones and it basically sets a light recipe for the room. Maximum three rooms can be selected.

            • @jace88: Couldn't I just assign all these lights to the one room?

              • +1

@FSTB: Yes you can. Sorry I shouldā€™ve addressed your original question directly.

For me I set up kitchen and living room and thereā€™s a few lights in each. Works really quick and basically sets the scene you choose when it detects motion. You also can choose a day and a night time scene setting and then you can set what hours each of those two scenes operate at. Itā€™ll automatically ignore if thereā€™s sufficient ambient light.

  • +2

Hmmmmm… do I need the dimmer switch or not?

At the moment, I have a schedule that changes the scene depending on the time of day but it doesn't always work.

    • +2

      it doesn't always work.

That's all I needed to hear.

    • +2

I find the dimmer switch to be excellent since itā€™s fast and can be removed from the wall plate too.

  • I am keenly awaiting the new GU10 with richer colours as my current ones are all so off with colour temps…

  • Great deal, was tempted to get smart lights for my house.
The starter kit at $49.90 kind of convinced me… is it a good price ?

    • Yes

  • Does any of Hue kits have motion sensor ?

    • +1

Not included so youā€™ll need to buy seperate or if you donā€™t want to use Hue brand, use IFTTT with another Compatible sensor.

  • Nice - thanks OP. Bought a bunch of Starter kits and stacked with Echo Dot (2 for 1 deal) + 20% off Echo deal + 5% prime + shopback!

    • Edit: I Replied to wrong post

Cheaper a month ago for most items? https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/485571

    • +4

      Same brand, different products.

OP posted the deal you linked as well..just because a product has been cheaper before doesn't mean it can't be posted as a deal again.

This is definitely a bargain IMO.

    • So if another deal comes up, it can't be posted unless it's cheaper? Huh? Guess the Mavic Pro will need to be $297 to ever see it on here again:P

  • +1

Black Friday is a month away.. hmmmm to buy now or wait for chance at bigger discount…… complicated first world problems

    • +1

      Same thing I was thinking

    • Amazon offers this pricing, (I think 3-4 times a year).Don't think the Black Friday deals would differ much.

    • +1

Just use a 28 degrees card. Buy now, get discounts refunded later.

      • Does 28 degree have price protection for online purchases? I know that my card only offers price protection for brick and mortar stores within 25 km of the original store :/

        • Yep

        • You pay a % on every statement if you activate this, so the trick is to pay it off before the statement is generated.

  • How long is this sale on for?

    • Another 16 hours or if they sell out

  • +1

    Dimmer switch showing $29.70… :(

  • +2

Don't forget to add the echo for the 20% off the entire order.

  • +1

The only one I wanted to buy is the E14 candle, and it's the only one not on sale! It would complete my house.

  • +6

Pity the heavily reduced starter kit ($119 to $49.90) is Edison screw only.

    • The kit for B22 White RGB $199 is very good price at they are sold at $321 or $271 at the Good Guy when on sale, and very hard to find stocks

      • Thanks Kendo. Is White RGB a coloured globe, or is it a white globe that can be tweaked in terms of warmth? I have no need for disco lights but certainly prefer a warmer white in the evenings.

        • Nevermind, a bit of research suggests I can make do with Phillips hue White ambience.

    • You can get adapters to convert screw bulbs to bayonet. Adds a little in length obviously so may not work for all light fittings.

  • For those that cannot get to Bunnings in time, Just remember that JB will price match and sometimes beat, best part… no having to wait for delivery…
That's what I did last time the Philips Hue White Ambiance Smart Bulb was on sale, they were $11.80 at Amazon AU and JB guy did it for a bit less.
The bridge was only $29.. so for $49 I picked up the Bridge and 2x White Ambiance bayonet globes, hind sight I should have taken a few more at $10 a go.

Went to JB at just after 9 and picked up what I needed and during that time the deal was over, I just scraped in..
if I had of waited til l the afternoon to get to Bunnings, I would have missed it..

    • All the JB dudes told me ā€œMate, we donā€™t price match Amazonā€.

  • +1

Waited too long for the dimmer =(

  • +2

Sigh when are they bringing their vintage filament range to Aus… available in USA

  • Does Bunnings price match Amazon? And has anyone tried the spotlight kit? I've heard they are pretty hard to install.

  • Having read lots of pricematch threads on ozbargain it seems Bunnings will always try to pricematch amazon AU as they see them as their main threat/competitor. However, often Bunnings will add on postage costs for EACH item you buy.

  • +2

Thank you! Just price matched at Bunnings, paid with my gift card from drone refund.

  • Need the white ambiance e27. Not on sale however. šŸ˜”

  • I like how the hub with 2 bulbs is 90c more than the hub by itself. 45c a bulb! :D

    • Then buy the hub with the bulbs like I did, even though I need to buy converter to bayonet plug

      • That's pretty clever. I bought the starter pack too, even though I need B22… will have to get some of those adaptors :)

  • Thanks OP
Got a starter kit… not 100% sure about it… but the discount was too tempting.
Hopefully I'll find a good way to use it… then maybe expand the system during the Black Friday sales.

Do the Adore lights work with Google Assistant as well? It's explicitly mentioned for the outdoor and spot light for instance, but the Adore lights only mention Alexa.
