OP you never heard of a spoon?

    • +7

had to be gentle on 1st go, else it gushes out everywhere being too full

      • +20

So use the handle end. I've been doing that for decades with the less process peanut butters. Simple and doesn't require another piece of single use junk to take up space in the kitchen drawer.

        • the less process peanut butters

May I know what is this peanut butters ?

          • @frewer: Makes more sense if I'd written "processed" correctly.

            • @banana365: It was a genuine question, I thought that all peanut butter went through the same process …

              • +1

@frewer: Most peanut butter that you see on supermarket shelves has an emulsifier in it to prevent the oil from separating. Others (like this Mayer's stuff) are essentially just crushed nuts with maybe some salt and the oil does separate, hence the need to stir it.

                • @banana365: This is the only one that we buy, I just wondering if there is others peanut that is better

          • @frewer: +1

And… may I know why this makes sense:

“Please choose correct Business or Residential Address shipping method. Delivery not guaranteed for Residential Address deliveries with Business Address shipping selected.”

            Thanks

          • @frewer: like the lemon lime bitters, but butters instead

      • +2

        this sounds familiar

      • +7

        phrasing

      • This applies to so many situations.

  • Great idea

  • cheers

  • +15

Mayvers deserves an award. Their PB is just too good.

    • Agreed, but their caocao spread is no match for Nutella haha

      • +29

Of course it's not because it doesn't have that much sugar in it

      • +35

The first two ingredients of Nutella are sugar and palm oil.

They shouldn’t be allowed to use the word “nut” in the name. Should be called something like "SugarOil" becuase that's what it is.

    • +4

It is great. But have you tried Pics peanut butter? I think it's got a notch or two on Mayvers.

      • +4

        Pic's is superior

      • For me they are both wow, but Pics are more expensive and when conducting a cost to benefit analysis

Mayvers on sale 2.50. Rating 10 out of 10 (imo)

Pics on sale 3.75. Rating 10 out of 10 (imo)

      • +1

Even Bega's Simply Nuts is pretty good.

      • Gave my 2 y.o. Mayvers the other day and he tossed the toast back and said "no no… the red one!"

        +1 for Pics.

        • +1

Superior to both of them is 'Ridiculously Delicious Peanut Butter'. Seriously, it's the bomb.

          https://www.ridiculouslydelicious.com.au

          • @jimwyze: Went out of my way to find the closest IGA and bought this for the first time last week.
I agree, definitely superior to those two. The roast is perfection.
            Expensive though.

  • Lol that kid is adorable "shaken not stirred" 😂😂😂

  • Great OP Thanks Ordered

Notice 3 weeks delay in shipping.

  • Bought 2, Thanks. Didnt know such product existed 🙂

  • does it work on other brands jars. And is it better htan just using a knife

    • +5

Probably (depends on jar mouth size) and yes, but not enough to justify its existence.

  • +12

My wife loves Mayver's PB and their jars are excellent to re-use. But I don't really see the point of this? I just give it a quick stir with the knife before I spread?

    • +1

First few stirs in a new jar usually the oil spills if you're not careful

    • +3

If you don't get the proportions mixed early on, the last bit gets super dry

  • I was only getting annoyed at doing this this morning making my toast. Thanks OP! My troubles are all solved now!

  • +1

Dang, its been so long since their price dropped to $2.5, i forgot this brand even existed

  • +24

Pro tip: store the jar upside down for a few days, the oil mixes through pretty evenly

    • That's what I do, I store them upside down as soon as I get the jars home.

    • +3

Damn, I thought I was the only smart one here :)

    • +6

I've done that and had oil escape the lid and go everywhere. Maybe it wasn't on tight enough.

      • ooh, another pro tip, I'm worried about my methodology now, don't want peanut oil everywhere!

        • Happened twice, once in my draw at work and in the pantry at home. Again could be my fault for not having it tight enough.

          • +1

@Vool: Oh was it after you had already opened it? I generally turn it back the normal way once I open it. I guess if the seal thing in the lid hasn't popped out it should be OK to store upside down.

    • +1

I'm so happy you called that a "pro tip", not a "pro hack"

      • +1

Yes, a great pro tip hack there ;)

  • +1

    Witchcraft!

  • +15

And here I've been using the tv remote like an idiot….

    • +1

What, you've been putting the battery end in first?
      Rookie mistake.
Always put in the infrared end first.

  • Protip: Store Peanut butter jar upside down.

    Damn, BEATEN 🤪

    • Tried that once and it leaked - not a good idea

      • +2

You're supposed to close the lid first…

  • This is a game changer

  • One of those things I never knew I needed…

  • +1

I made halva yesterday, could have done with this. By the way, Mayver's tahini is $3.70 a jar on Amazon

  • wth i though you could have just used your tongue for the same purpose

  • +1

    Ordered. Thanks op

  • +1

Yes it's ridiculous. Yes i just bought one. Yes i don't care what you think of me now lol

  • +12

You put a knife in and stir and then use the same knife to spread. That way less stuff to clean.

    What am I missing?

    Maybe I'm the weirdo

    • +7

      Maybe I'm the weirdo

Perhaps, but not for using a knife to stir it.

    • Hard to really get in there and stir properly with a knife without it spilling over the side. As I mentioned in another comment, you can just store them upside down though (but apparently you gotta be careful of leaks!)

  • +3

No SSL certificate. Hmm.. that worries me a bit.

    • how did I miss that !!!!!!

  • +2

    ridiculously unnecessary. fantastic.

  • +5

PLEASE NOTE: We are experiencing delays of Super Natural Spreads Mixers being delivered up to 3 weeks after ordering. Please contact us directly at info{at}mayvers.com.au if you require your Stirrer by a specific date.

  • +2

That video should win an award. Got me thinking if I needed one of these. I like my peanut butter stirred and not shaken!

  • As much as this is great, easier solution. Store the jar upside down (lid side on the bottom). Thank me later.

    • +4

      Too late mate.

      • +1

True, here's another tip. Write mayvers a really nice compliment and you'll get the stirrer free (and posted). It's what I did two years ago when the brand first came out saying how much I loved the dark roasted crunchy.

        • After tasting every single variety of theirs, Dark Roasted Crunchy is my favourite too, sooo good, currently down to my last half a jar after the last stockpiling session.

    • But then the lid is covered in peanut butter and all the oil is at the other end of the jar

      • I've never left it upside down longer than a week, but the oil has never ended up at the other end of the jar when I've done it. The peanut button on the lid isn't really an issue.

        • peanut button? mine came with a metal lid. LOL…

sorry not laughing at you.. just tot to share a joke. ^_^

  • Got one, great PB and we usually stock up on half price.

  • Thanks OP. I don't need it, but still ordered one! :)

  • +2

Anyone got a coupon code to bring the price down a little further? ;)

EDIT: Sorry, I'm just 'stirring' the pot, and being a little 'nutty'!

  • +2

    It's a bizarre product.

    I don't need it.

    It's cheap.

    Thank you - ordered one.

  • +1

Ah, yes, the joy bringer made for millenials.

  • +2

    This ISN'T a bargain, it's an advertisement.

    • Agreed, but I wouldn't have seen it otherwise.

  • +3

is $2 the standard price? if it is, then it is not a bargain, it is a cheap stuff, which need to go to ozcheap instead of ozbargain

Mayver should make a promotion buy 2 bottle and get a free hand mixer, i think

  • -6

Other peanut butter like Sanitarium, home brands and Bega is cheaper and stays together.

These expensive brands don't stay together and then sell you something to fix it.

    • +5

Next, you'll explain WHY they "stay together" and possibly work out why people avoid them.

      • -2

It stays together because they add some extra oil (not peanut oil) that stops syneresis.

        • +1

Bega: "Ingredients. ROASTED PEANUTS (85%), VEGETABLE OIL (CONTAINS ANTIOXIDANT (320)), SUGAR, SALT."

A lot of people would avoid because of the massive amount of "vegetable oil" (industrial waste, effectively, it's terrible for you) and sugar that Mayvers, etc., doesn't have.

          • +1

            @mickeyjuiceman:

A lot of people would avoid because of the massive amount of "vegetable oil" (industrial waste, effectively, it's terrible for you)

A lot of people are not very smart if they think vegetable oil is a secret word for industrial waste

            • @spaceflight: Let me guess, you think "vegetable oil" comes from vegetables, right?

Marketing might be maximally cynical about how easy it is to fool people, but that doesn't mean they're wrong…

              • @mickeyjuiceman:

Let me guess, you think "vegetable oil" comes from vegetables, right?

                You're guessed wrong.

I know that the oil is going to be sunflower, palm, cotton, canola or one of the many other oils.

how easy it is to fool people

Just like you fooled yourself by trying to say vegetable oil is industrial waste, or poorly guessing what I thought.

        • syneresis

such a big word, such little understanding ;)

          • -1

            @SBOB:

            such little understanding ;)

It means a liquid separating from a mixture…

            • @spaceflight: im aware what the word means…
you're clearly unaware of why those cheaper peanut butters arent as good

              • -3

@SBOB: You're clearly unaware that different people like things differently.

I like not having to mix peanut butter every time I want to eat it.

If that means there is a small amount of extra oil, sugar and salt that is good to me.

    • +1

I don't know about you, but I care more about the taste of the product.

      • +1

Mayvers tastes good but other brands also taste good.

    • -1

I tried Pics and Mayvers before but I've gone back to the ol school peanut butter. I didn't really think it tasted particularly any better (different, but I wouldn't say better). And if it saves me a bit of mixing effort then cool…

As for the health difference, meh. I never treated peanut butter as exactly health food to begin with.

  • not very supernatural if you ask me
